You felt your gut twist in anxiety at his words

"Sabito, you've misunderstood the situation.."

His expression remained blank. You suppose that now he's ignoring you

I don't want to choose...

You sigh under your breath, turning to sit the now empty cup on the table beside his bed

While you're doing this, you think about the time he spends at home. His room looks as if he's been trying hard to keep clutter from building up

You then laid back on the bed beside Sabito wordlessly, and he turned his head to look at you with tired eyes

You return the look hesitantly

"I've missed you." He said suddenly

You shifted onto your side, facing him "but I'm right here."

"That's not what I meant" he replied, turning onto his side as well and lowering his voice "I mean...I miss my friend. The (y/n) that didn't care what other people think."

"I'm sorry..." you muttered

Sabito wrapped an arm around you gently, nearly startling you "don't be."

You sidled up to him, a light blush tinting your cheeks

He seemed to be saying things he was thinking off the top of his head now, without any real direction or goal

"I guess you've grown without me, haven't you?" He said finally

You squeezed your eyes shut and buried your face into his chest, shaking your head

"...are you crying?" He whispered

Opening one eye, you could see a wet splatter of tears staining his shirt where your face had been. Your cheeks were wet, and your eyes ached

"I'm the same as I've always been and...I hate it" you sniffled "I bring chaos everywhere I go. I just want to be happy"

You felt a warm hand stroking the back of your head lightly

"Me, too. That's why dad always watches my every move..." Sabito commented, hoping to lighten the mood

"...and, that's why I like you. Because you're the only one that will be there when everything falls apart."

You slipped your arm underneath his, pulling him closer to you

"You're...the only person I've ever met who doesn't think of me as the shitty mistakes I make." He sighed "so, I can't afford to lose you."

"You won't." You said firmly, gripping the back of his shirt "you couldn't, even if you wanted to."

You felt a laugh rumble in his chest, and smiled along with him

"I hope you're right"

You don't know how long the two of you held each other, but the time felt like nothing as you laid there listening to his heartbeat and the gentle tapping of raindrops hitting the window, fading in and out of sleep

As the night began to approach, the storm grew worse. You could tell by the crack of lightening followed by the groan of thunder echoing outside

You thought about how cold it must be out there, and shivered against Sabito

"What time is it...?" Sabito yawned, rolling over to reach for his phone
