"Jungkook made a frown and closed his eyes, resting his fingers on his forehead while groaning lightly."
•••
Jungkook was sitting in front of his boss going through the same folders he had gone through a thousand times already. He had finished all his work almost an hour ago, but he knew his boss had still a long way to go so he kept pretending to be busy in order not to make the older one feel bad for keeping him there. He had a lot of experience with that, he had done that a million times before for his hyung, since Yoongi always left too late and never wanted Jungkook to stay with him without having any work to do.
Since he had come back with the food they had both eaten in silence and Jimin immediately went back to do the numbers for the record sales as soon as he finished eating. Jungkook busied himself after eating too and they had just been like that for most of the afternoon. They would once in a while surreptitiously steal each other some glances but, to Jungkook's relief, none of his glances had been discovered by the older. It was around nine when the silence was finally broken.
"Um... Jungkook..." Jimin had raised his gaze from the computer and was rubbing his eyes while looking at his assistant.
"Yes sir?" At the sound of his name he had shifted his gaze from the folders -which were already dizzy from all the times Jungkook had gone through them- to his boss. He felt a tingling sensation at the pit of his stomach at hearing his boss calling him by his name, like he was some kind of friend... "How does he get so comfortable with a person he's just met?" Jungkook wondered in silence.
"...It's already nine o'clock and everybody has already left..." Jungkook knew what was coming and groaned internally. "...Couldn't we just go home and finish this tomorrow?" Jimin finished and Jungkook's heart gave a tiny jump. There he was, his boss, an adult, older than him, working at a big company, looking at him with the softest, fluffiest expression Jungkook had ever seen. How can he look like a 5 year old without looking childish?... Jungkook brushed his thoughts out of his mind, tried not to look at the pout Jimin was giving him and put on the best hard, yet understanding expression he had.
"Mr. Park we can't. We really need to finish all these before we go home..." It was so weird calling him "Park" but for some reason, his boss said his name was his mother's name and not his father's. He made a mental note to look further on the matter afterwards. He couldn't help but be nosy.
"But I haven't even finished the record sales, and I still need to do five months of costume purchases." His boss whined and deepened his plump pink pout.
Stop! Thought Jungkook. Just stop giving me that look hyung or I will... Wait a second! Had he just called him "hyung"? Oh no Jungkook... focus, just fucking focus! "It's company policy, sir" he said, averting his eyes from Jimin to his folders again. "Plus, if we leave everything that's left today for tomorrow we won't be able to leave at all with the amount of work we'll have to do."
