Gradually the senses that Zhou Zishu temporary lost were returned to him.

The long-lost sensation of good wine makes his mouth water just thinking about it.

A light sweet scent enters his nose. It's been a while since he last smelt this unique fragrance that belongs to Wen Kexing.

The short period that he couldn't hear felt like eternity. The peaceful quietness that Zhou Zishu wanted was never achieved due to the constant nagging from the Ghost Valley Master that followed him everywhere. Yet, when he didn't hear the other person, he felt that the world was too quiet. Currently, he could hear the faint breathing sound of Wen Kexing.

Zhou Zishu couldn't wait to open his eyes to see the person helping him heal his wound. However, what he saw isn't what he had expected. He thought in his mind that he would meet with either the red rimmed puppy eyes or maybe with the bright smile from Wen Kexing. Yet, he didn't meet with any of such and stared intently.

'Why did lao-Wen's hair turned ... turned white? And why are your eyes still closed?' Zhou Zishu wanted to ask but no voice would come out as he had a bad feeling in his heart.

Wen Kexing, with his eyes closed, looks serene as though he's asleep ... very deeply.

Not a word could leave Zhou Zishu's lips because he also notices Wen Kexing's cold hands that was originally pressed against his are cold as ice and slowly slipping down as if no strength is left in them. The situation has made him feels somewhat perplexed. However, Wen Kexing's hands are slipping away from his gasp. If he doesn't catch him now, Zhou Zishu has a hunch that he would regret it for as long as he lives. Worse than that is for his intuition to scream out that if he doesn't hurry, Wen Kexing would be forever lost.

The moment Zhou Zishu caught the paled and cold hands, his mind wanders to the life and death experience that they have been through together. It has always been Wen Kexing who caught his hand.

'Whenever I fell or too tired to get up, it was always this slender hand that pulled me up.' Zhou Zishu recalls yet this reminiscing session came to an abrupt end. 'His pulse ... his meridians ... why is it like this?'

"Lao Wen! Lao Wen!" Zhou Zishu calls him several times but has gotten nothing in response. "Wen Kexing! Wen Kexing!"

Zhou Zishu wholeheartedly wishes that this is just some sort of prank from the cunning Ghost Valley Master. He wishes that this is just a hallucination or just a bad dream. He can clearly hear and feel his heart shattering to pieces.

Zhou Zishu gently pulls and gathers the almost lifeless Wen Kexing into his arms. The senses that were returned seems to be worse than before.

Neither food nor wine would taste as good since Zhou Zishu's soul mate wouldn't be there to enjoy them with him.

No sound nor music would be pleasant to the ear as much as how Wen Kexing sounded. The usual nagging couldn't be heard anymore since even his breathing and heart beats are growing quieter.

No fragrance in this world would be as sweet as the faint sweet scent from the unconscious man in Zhou Zishu's arm which seems to be getting fainter with every minute that passed.

Despite being here at the Changming mountain, the weather on the mountain peak couldn't be compared with the coldness of Wen Kexing's body that has frozen Zhou Zishu's heart.

In this moment, Zhou Zishu's vision has blurred. He couldn't see Wen Kexing clearly ... because water has filled his eyes and spilling out when the rim couldn't contain them anymore.

"You said that you wouldn't lie to me ... I should've known not to believe what you said." Although, it wasn't entirely Wen Kexing's fault on this matter, but Zhou Zishu feels that he needed to say it out.

How could there be a gain without a lost? How would it be possible for Zhou Zishu to obtain his life back with his martial arts still intact without sacrificing something or someone?

One life trading for another ...

'No, I will not let lao-Wen die.'

The armory collected all sorts of books and scrolls, there must be some or at least one that could help Wen Kexing. As long as there is still hope, Zhou Zishu isn't willing to give up. With Wen Kexing's depleted internal energy and destroyed meridians, Zhou Zishu lightly channels his energy flow into him to help maintain his life force.

"Lao-Wen, you're not allow to die on me ... as your shixiong, I order you to hang on while I find a way to help you, understand?" Zhou Zishu instructs while settling Wen Kexing down while he, himself, instantly get to work going through everything nearby at the fastest speed in which not a second could be wasted.

The first priority that Zhou Zishu needs to deal with is how to mend Wen Kexing's meridians. Therefore, he focuses his search on the medical books. Despite not too familiar with the medical things, he tries his best to read through them and grasps the essential part. While searching he would always check on Wen Kexing's condition.

However, nothing seems to get better. Even maintaining Wen Kexing's coma state is hard. With every second, the Ghost Valley Master is getting closer and closer to become a real ghost. In the end, Zhou Zishu is at a lost with desperation filling his heart. He doesn't know what he should do, the ray of hope is getting dimmer and his heart is hurting more.

"I should've confessed to you that I felt more than good friends with you for quite some time. But when I found out that you are my missing shidi, I felt a little conflicted. I should be a good senior to guide you, yet I ... I love you, not as a brother ... but as my significant other ... my other half." Zhou Zishu talks to the unconscious person lying before him.

Zhou Zishu traces along Wen Kexing's colorless lips. There were many times that he wanted to kiss these lips, but he was too scared to do it. Now, he is still scared, but for a different reason. He's scared that he won't be able to kiss these lips. With such fear in mind, Zhou Zishu slowly leans down to lightly press a kiss and a tear that slips out of his eyes landed softly on Wen Kexing's cheek.

In this instance, there's sound strange noise which caused Zhou Zishu's heart to leap; he thought that Wen Kexing has woken up. However, that wasn't the case. When he carefully studies the environment, it wasn't caused by Wen Kexing but rather sounding from the entrance of the armory.

After identifying the source location, the first person that Zhou Zishu thought of is the Scorpion King. Just the mention of this person caused Zhou Zishu to see red as he thinks that they still haven't given up their attempt to enter the armory. He promptly approaches the entrance with his Bai Yi sword drawn and ready to cut down the person who dares come here.

Those outside were suddenly startle by the movement of the armory's door opening in which one of them relaxed his vigilant. As a result, the moment the door opens, a cold blade is already on the neck of the visitor.

"Shi-shifu!" Zhang Chengling quickly calls out to the attacker before another flick of wrist and his head would be flying off.

When hearing the familiar terms, Zhou Zishu quickly withdrew his sword. "Chengling?"

"Zishu, where's Wen gongzi?" Qi Ye urgently asks.

"Inside." Zhou Zishu is still astounded by the group of people in front of him but manage to accurately answer the question asked.

Without any further ado, the wizard of Nanjing hurries inside to the almost dead Wen Kexing. Zhou Zishu wants to immediately follows before a gentle hand stops him.

"Zishu, you look like someone about to drop dead any second. Rest first while Wu Xi checks the situation with Wen gongzi." Qi Ye points out the apparent condition that Zhou Zishu is unaware of. "Don't add more trouble."
