It has been 3 years 2 month and a day.

Some people may feel that the span of 3 years is relatively short. It's just about thousand days. However, if you are someone desperately waiting for their loved one to come back, the same period of time may be equivalent to 3 lifetimes. Every minute is so long and everyday seemed like it would never end.

"Shifu, will you really be alright?" ChengLing asks again just before he heads down the mountain to meet with his uncle and cousins once in a while. Although, the 5 Lakes Alliances are no longer there but the remaining people still meet and catch up and aiding one another where necessary. Normally, he would be gone for a few days, but this time he would be gone for at least a week or more because he would be travelling back to his hometown as well.

"I'll be fine." Zhou Zishu gives his disciple his iconic eyes rolling act but then suddenly remembers something important. "Don't forget to buy good wine back for your shishu and also the nuts that he always has with him."

"Okay. Then the dry food as well as the frozen soup is in the cabinet in the kitchen. In case that shishu wakes up before I come back, you just need to heat it up for him. I'll hurry back as soon as everything is done." ChengLing lays out the location of things and brief simple instruction on what needs to be done. Then he finally goes down the mountain.

-----------------

3 years ago ... Qi Ye and the Shamanet also left the Changmin mountain

"I may have saved his life and his heart is still beating but ... I cannot tell you if he would wake up soon nor would he ever wake up at all." Wu Xi straightforwardness is the number one in the world; however, Qi Ye didn't stop him from saying this to Zhou Zishu as it's something rather important despite its harshness.

"If you ever needed anything, just let us know." Qi Ye tells Zhou Zishu then left the mountain with Wu Xi

------------------

And now, there are only Zhou Zishu and the still unconscious Wen Kexing remaining on Changmin mountain. With nothing else to do, Zhou Zishu practices his martial art in front of their room with one of the doors open to ensure that he wouldn't missed if the other person moved or have any sort of hint of waking up.

When it's getting dark, Zhou Zishu calls it a day, clean himself up and brings over a bucket of warm water with a small towel. Since he likes cleanliness, even the sleeping Wen Kexing wasn't spared. Zhou Zishu would open Wen Kexing's undergarment and cleans him up with the small towel. At first, he's slightly embarrassed on doing such thing. However, as time progress, he becomes distress instead because Wen Kexing is getting thinner every day.

Once done with everything, Zhou Zishu would lay down next to Wen Kexing ... at least that was how things started out. Then later on, the sleeping posture somehow change. Eventually, the 2 people end up sleeping in one another's arms. To be more precise, it would be Zhou Zishu practically sleeping in Wen Kexing's chest. He would snuggle close and hugging his waist in the process. Yet, Zhou Zishu isn't someone to take advantage of others. Therefore, he also makes sure to place Wen Kexing's arms around his own waist as well.

------------------

Falling for so long, at long last Wen Kexing seems to have reached the bottom. He feels his soul and body reuniting. The senses are returning back to him. It feels a little strange and Wen Kexing somewhat doesn't remember on what to do to make his body move. After several attempts, he manages to move a finger ...

One simple subtle move, but Zhou Zishu is able to feel it the moment it happened. His body instantly props up at the same time that his eyes snap open to look at the other man. However, after staring for a long while, there doesn't seem to be any movement as if it was a hallucination from his own mind. Just as Zhou Zishu is about to give up --

Wen Kexing's eyelashes slightly tremble ...

Upon seeing this, Zhou Zishu's breath is caught in his throat. He wants to call out to Wen Kexing but choking on his own words that couldn't be uttered out.

Being in the comatose state for more than 3 years, every movement seems hard to do. Even opening his eyes is so difficult. After taking his time to adjust, finally Wen Kexing can reveal a gap. The already heavy eyelids in addition with the morning light that starts to stream into the room are making him tired, but he feels that he should at least get one thing done.

With his eyes halfway open, Wen Kexing could sense the bright light and could also see the vague outline of someone in front of him. However, he only needed to wonder for a few moments when he heard this person call him with a voice not too soft and not too loud. The familiar voice that he seemed to have missed for a long time.

"L-lao-Wen ..." Zhou Zishu whispers out the name that he's been calling everyday but never getting any response back.

The simple call out becomes the stimulus for Wen Kexing to close his eyes then gather his strength to re-open them again wider and more focus than before. The vague outline in the light becomes a little clearer than the last time.

'You're always in the light ... glittering just like that time.' Wen Kexing says them in his mind as speech is something unachievable at the moment.

With several attempts ... Wen Kexing eventually gets to see the person he wanted most. Waking up from the long sleep to be welcomed by one's soulmate ... Wen Kexing couldn't ask for more.

On the other hand, Zhou Zishu couldn't believe that Wen Kexing is now awake. Day after day that he has waited ... and now the wait is over.

"Lao-Wen, you finally woke up." Zhou Zishu gives a small smile and softly tells the other person while his hand gently touches his face. Yet, that didn't last long as he noticed that Wen Kexing's gaze is still somewhat misty and dazed causing him to become distressed. "Lao-Wen?"

When seeing Zhou Zishu's brows furrowed through his still somewhat blurred sight, Wen Kexing thinks of how he can respond back. The expression in his eyes isn't helping much as they're exactly the source of Zhou Zishu's concern. Most of his limbs are still strengthless and cannot utter any noise out due to his dry throat. At long last, he thinks of smiling to show that he's fine. However, Wen Kexing's face muscle is stiff as well causing the attempt to smile to be strange.

While Wen Kexing tries to manage his muscle to give the correct expression, he could see the changes on Zhou Zishu's face. If his brows are scrunch together and looking green, it means Wen Kexing's expression is not the correct one and it's likely scaring him. After seeing Zhou Zishu's turning green to white then to red until finally getting a small smile did Wen Kexing reached the expression that he aimed for.

"You gave me quite a scare." Zhou Zishu comments and comes up with an idea to help him. "I guess I need to help you loosen up some muscles otherwise you might be giving me creepy expressions and scared me to death!"

Since his facial muscle isn't cooperating, Wen Kexing tries to express his frowning by narrowing his eyes.

"Why are you being so petty?" Zhou Zishu mocks the other person.

Despite his mocking tone, Zhou Zishu has an impulse to tease Wen Kexing. Therefore, he simultaneously moves his face closer to the other person at the distant where their breath could mingle with one another.

Being close wasn't something out of the usual as Wen Kexing would also grab at the chance when available for a long time. The difference this time is when Zhou Zishu decides to remove the distant and allow the two lips to touch and Wen Kexing's breath hitches in response.
