Chapter 3 - To say goodbye one last time

Wen Kexing is enjoying his sleep when suddenly some annoying voices made its way into his good dream.

"Gege ... gege, how long are you going to keep sleeping? ... Gege! ... Come on, wake up! ... GEGE!" Gu Xiang paces back and forth in front of the bed while keep calling the person that is still lying lazily on the bed. However, when she was about to start on another round of shouting, her ear was pulled. "Ge—ouch!"

In the split second that Gu Xiang wasn't on guard, Wen Kexing swiftly reaches out to tug at her ear preventing her from another round of shouting.

"What's with all these roaring?" Wen Kexing begins with a light mocking before planning to give another one. Yet, he was stopped when he finally gave her a good look. "What are you wearing?"

"Wedding gowns! Why are you asking this?" Gu Xiang is puzzled at such question but then realized something. "Gege, did you forget that it's my wedding today?"

"Today's your wedding? Who is blind enough to wed a wild girl like you?" Wen Kexing asks with his tone filled with surprise.

"It's Cao dage! You're the one that entrusted me to him. You were going to sell me for 3 coins, but you kept on giving him discount until you gave me to him for free, remember? And why do I have to retell this embarrassing thing!?!?" Gu Xiang couldn't believe what was happening and wonders if Wen Kexing knock his head or something. "And ... and you even prepared all the dowry for my wedding!"

After hearing the sequence of the event, Wen Kexing starts to vaguely remember that the things that Gu Xiang mentioned really did happened. However, there's also some strange ominous feelings rising in his heart. Yet, Wen Kexing meets with the girl's excited gaze.

The young Gu Xiang in green wedding gown and red trim with glittering head ornament stands before Wen Kexing with a bright smile.

'The baby I found abandon by the roadside has grown up to be a wild girl yet about to be married.' Wen Kexing laments in his heart as this girl would leave with her new family.

"... ge ... gege!" Gu Xiang calls out to Wen Kexing several times but doesn't get any response from him as he seems to be in a trance for some reason. "Am I so beautiful that gege becomes speechless just seeing me?"

Wen Kexing's brows rise from such statement. "No, I'm just thinking about what I should do when your Cao dage decided to return you back here afterwards."

Gu Xiang couldn't believe her ears and tries to come up with something to counter. However, the other person that was mentioned suddenly show up to her rescue.

"That's impossible Wen gongzi." Cao Weining says with full confidence.

Upon seeing Cao Weining's face, Wen Kexing sees some images flashing through his mind.

Cao Weining dead body ...

Gu Xiang desperately fight against someone ...

Then she was attacked and wounded ...

Up to this point, Wen Kexing gaze becomes unfocused while his hands clutched his aching temple as the images continued to flash in his mind.

Gu Xiang with blood all over her body is lying in his arms ...

The girl struggled while coughing blood ...

She looked at him with bloodshot eyes and begging him ...

"He killed Cao dage ... I must kill him ..." The girl scuffling out of his arm to grab a sword nearby.

"Ah-Xiang!" Wen Kexing attempted to stop her but she wasn't willing.
