Wen Kexing continues to fall for a while before he wakes up on a bed. It's quite a familiar looking bed. The layout and decoration are also somewhat familiar.
It's the house at the foot of the mountain where the Four Seasons Manor is ... it's the house that he lived with his parents when they were alive.
When he sits up to take in the surrounding one more time just to be sure, a couple appears.
The couple that Wen Kexing has almost forgotten their faces, while the desire to vengeance for them was the driving force for his very existence.
"Yan-er." It's his mother. The beautiful woman without any disguise to hide her from any approaching harm. She sits beside Wen Kexing's bed and pulls her son in for a warm hug.
"Mom." Wen Kexing gladly accepts this long-lost feeling.
"You've grown so big." His father says as he rubs his son's head just like how it has been.
"Dad." Wen Kexing looks up at his dad with rimmed red eyes.
"Why are you still a crybaby?" His father chuckles while shaking his head in disbelief.
Hearing such thing from his father, Wen Kexing clears his throat, adjusts his posture and blinks several times to help the water brimming in his eyes to evaporate. "Dad, you must have seen it wrong. Who's crying?"
Seeing such arrogance in her son, Wen Kexing's mother couldn't help but reaches out to pinch the tip of his nose in a teasing manner. "Of course, you weren't."
The family of three burst out laughing at one another and continue to live their lives together in their house.
Everyday Wen Kexing would help his mother cook the meals and train martial arts with her throughout the morning. In the afternoon, he would go out to pick herbs from the mountain and nearby area to learn about medicine from his father. Despite not being able to move around very freely, his father still insists on teaching his son.
If there wasn't the incident with Rong Xuan ...
If there wasn't the legendary armory ...
This family of three would have lived peacefully.
After spending time together as a family for who knows how long until one night when Wen Kexing's parents pack up and prepare to leave making him confuse.
"Are you going out to watch the full moon?" Wen Kexing asks thinking that maybe his mother is taking his father out for a night stroll.
At this time, his mother who's a head shorter reaches out to gently touch his face and gives him a small smile. "It's time for us to leave."
"Leave? Where are you going? I'll go with you." Wen Kexing places his hand over his mother's.
"Yan-er ... your mother and I were worried about you all along. We wanted to reach out and help you, but we were powerless. All we could do was to watch you suffer. With many things that happened somehow we ended up with an opportunity to meet with you again." His father discloses the truth hidden in this encounter of theirs.
"We're happy that we get to meet and spend time with my Yan-er, but unfortunately this is all the time that we have left. From now on, you need to take care of yourself. If the heaven permits, I hope that we could be a family again." His mother says her part before the both of them start to disappear into thin air.
"Mom! Day! Where are you going? Don't leave me alone, take me with you!" Wen Kexing desperately tries to catch his vanishing parents only to grab empty air.
Since their deaths 20 years ago, the Zhen's couple still wandered the human realm as they still have worries before their death. They may have been filled with worried before but this past year, the emergence of Zhou Zishu into Wen Kexing's life has played a significant improvement. Therefore, the couple could finally move on as their son is in good hands. The couple only grasps this opportunity to spend some time as a family before eventually leaving the human realm.
While Wen Kexing sits in a daze wondering why people in his life left him one after the other, another person has appeared behind him and placing a hand on his slumped shoulder. Wen Kexing thought that it was his parents returning, thus he instantly turns around in glee. However, it turns out the person wasn't who he was expecting and displayed his shock with his mouth gaping for words.
"Have you decided on what to say?" The person asks.
Wen Kexing purses his previously wide opened mouth into a thin line while lowering his eyes contemplating hard on what he should say. After a long while, he manages to greet the person. "Master Qin."
"Wrong." Qin HuaiZhang reflexively responds.
The answer isn't as what Wen Kexing has anticipated. As a result, he looks up again to carefully check if he was really mistaken. However, no matter which angle he looks, the person in front of him is definitely Master Qin.
"You've forgotten how your shifu looks like? Although, we didn't go through the grand ceremony but you're still my disciple." Qin HuaiZhang corrects the pronoun that Wen Kexing has used to call him just now.
Seeing that Wen Kexing stilled for another long while, he had to ask. "Well?"
"Shi-shifu." Wen Kexing finally obediently calls and salutes to show his respect.
"I'm sorry for not being there in time to help brother Zhen and you ... otherwise, you wouldn't have been taken to the ghost valley." Qin HuaiZhang gets directly to the point of this meeting.
"Shifu does not need to apologize. It wasn't your fault at all." Wen Kexing quickly refutes.
"You don't blame me, but I still have to be responsible for my good brother and disciple." Qin HuaiZhang insists before continuing to other topics. "I am unable to teach you any martial arts at this point but there's still someone who can. He can be too mature, too serious, and too strict. So, you'll need to take him out to play from time to time. Otherwise, he'll turn into an old man way before his actual age could catch up."
"Shifu, this is ..." Wen Kexing feels slightly perplexed from the instruction given by his shifu. For normal cases, the instructions are the opposite of what he just said.
"Well, your shige isn't like anyone else. That's why the method has to be different. Also, I didn't have that many chances to drink with him. Therefore, I have to trouble you to be his drinking companion. We wouldn't want the young ChengLing to be scared because of a drunk Zishu running around beating him to practice martial arts, right?" Qin HuaiZhang clearly explains the situation of the current shifu and disciple of the Four Seasons Manor.
"Right." Wen Kexing could imagine how much of a nightmare the situation would be for ChengLing.
When Wen Kexing is lost in his thought, a hand has reached out and pushed him causing him to once again fall backward. From afar, he could no longer hear but still manage to read Qin HuaiZhang's lips which once again gives him a surprise. However, as he fell further and further, his surroundings become white and brighten to the point that he can't keep his eyes open anymore.
In Wen Kexing's mind, the words said by Gu Xiang and Qin HuaiZhang overlapped with one another.
"Go back ... he's waiting for you."
