New York ~ Hospital
To put it simply, Rachel was absolutely terrified. She felt sick and not just because she was probably experiencing morning sickness. She was really hoping that she'd got a false positive otherwise...well...she didn't even what to think about that. Because it was way too hard. Her life was finally on track. She was studying at her dream school in New York with her best friend and her amazingly handsome and talented boyfriend. A pregnancy would destroy all of that. She glanced upwards and spotted a very pregnant woman waddling down the corridor. Rachel couldn't imagine that happening to her. So she just kept hoping and praying that she wasn't actually pregnant. Because otherwise everything she'd ever dreamed of and worked for would be destroyed. But until that moment where she knew the truth, she would continue to panic. Luckily, she wasn't alone. Santana was here with her. If you'd told her that at the start of her sophomore year, she would've laughed in your face. But Rachel was actually happy the Latina girl was here. She honestly didn't think she could've done this without Santana.
"Hey, It's going to be okay, Rachel. We'll figure it out. Together." She said, placing a hand on Rachel's arm. She swallowed nervously and nodded slightly with a small smile.
"Just keep telling yourself that, Rachel. Then it might just come true." She told herself. After a few more minutes, a doctor called them in and Santana gave her a reassuring look before they followed the doctor into a room.
"Okay, so you think you might be pregnant?" He asked.
"Um yeah."
"Okay. Have you taken a test?" He questioned.
"Yes and it came back positive." Rachel replied.
"Well there are instances of false positives, so, if you hop up, we can take a look and see if you're pregnant." The doctor said. Santana gave her a soft smile and squeezed her hand lightly before Rachel did what the doctor told her to. She pulled up her top slightly, exposing her abdomen, and winced slightly as he squeezed the gel onto her stomach. God it was cold! He got out the scanner thing and slowly traced her stomach with it. After a few moments, where Rachel got more and more stressed, the doctor spoke again.
"Yep, you're definitely pregnant." Rachel inhaled and squeezed her eyes shut. It would be so embarrassing if she burst into tears in the middle of a doctor's office. He pointed to a place on the screen. "That's your baby."
She couldn't help it anymore. Her eyes started to water but this time, it wasn't because she was scared. It was because she was pregnant. She was going to have a little boy or girl. And even though that thought was absolutely terrifying, it also made her feel kind of happy and excited. She'd always wanted to have kids. She loved the idea of being able to dress, care and play with her adorable baby. Because of course it would be adorable. It was her child after all. Yes this was probably going to ruin her plan for the future but it also meant she was going to be a mother. And maybe it was just the fact that she was hormonal due to her pregnancy but the fact she was going to have a baby made her feel very emotional. She felt Santana reach over and grab her hand.
"Are you okay, Rach?" She asked.
"Yeah, I'm fine. It's just I'm pregnant. I'm going to have a baby." She cried softly.
"Yeah. Yeah, you are." Santana said with a soft smile on her face. Their eyes connected and Rachel grinned and sobbed slightly at the same time before looking back at the screen that showed her child.
