(20) The Boys are Here

1 month later 

It was 7AM on January 15th, Bucky put their bags in the car. They headed to the hospital once they were checked in. They sat in pre opt for about three hours before the doctor took them back. 

All the family was at the hotel awaiting word. Peggy and Steve was in town too after Christmas he and Silas forgave Bucky. Katie and Bucky were in the OR the nurse showed him where to sit by her head. 

"Okay Mrs Barnes we are starting the surgery now." The doctor said 

"Okay." She said 

The doctor began her c section as Bucky kept her calm as he could. Ten minutes later at 11:05AM their first son was born. Five minutes later their second son was born. Bucky was able to cut both cords. He went over to where the cribs were. 

They both had his hair and big blue eyes. Katie was so excited when she was wheeled to her maternity room so she could hold them. She fed both of them from her breasts she was in love. Bucky was over the moon with them too. 

Their families came in a few hours later to meet their newest bundles. 

"Everyone meet "Alexander James and Joshua James." Bucky said as he held Joshua. 

"He has Joshua and I have Alex." She said 

Everyone took turns holding them and loving on them. About a week later Bucky quietly left the bed when he heard them. He went into the bedroom and was holding both of them as they both gripped his dog tag chain. 

Katie peaked in on him as he stood there in ball shorts bouncing them. As she leaned against the door frame. One of Bucky's favorite songs to play before deployment came to mind "American soldier." By Toby Kieth as she watched him in that moment. Mainly the first verse of the song. 

He seen her. "I've got this you go sleep. Tell her boys say mama go sleep. Daddy made bottles." He whispered as he kissed their heads. 

"Love you." She mouthed 

He smiled at her. "Love you too." He mouthed as she smiled at him and went back to the bedroom.
