Bucky retired as a LT Colonel from Fort Hamilton when he was in his early 50s. He and Katie bought a house in upstate NY that was away from everyone. The boys joined the military after highschool and Alexis went to UMass for college.
Katie continued to write book even after Bucky retired. Silas and his wife moved to NC to be closer to Steve and Peggy. They loved their time in NC that when they retired they bought a house there. Sam moved back to NY as well.
Bucky truly believed that Katie despite their age difference was his soulmate. Bucky passed away at the age of 85. After being in brought by Katie when he suffered heart attack three hours after being there. They came out to tell her he was gone they found her on the floor. She was only 77.
They were buried together in Arlington along with the rest of the family.
