Jack woke to the pounding sound of someone knocking on the door. He looked over at the clock, 4:32 Am.

"What nutcase is out at this time?" he groaned throwing on a crumble-up t-shirt as he made his way towards the door. "Hello" he greeted drowsily as opened the door. The sight he was greeted with jolted him wide awake. It was Wanda standing outside in the pouring rain, Her eyes were puffy and she was drenched. Traces of Mascara ran down her face darkening the circles around his eyes.

"Jack..." Her voice was horse and full of sorrow. She collapsed into his arms crying letting out a heartwrenching sob "Vision he's..."

"It's okay I got you" he whispered softly into her hair as he gently picked her up and carried her to the couch.

"It hurts so much" she buried her head into his chest.

"I know" he said rubbing her back 'She had been through so much she didn't deserve this to'

"It's my fault everyone I love dies" she cried softly as images of Pietro and her parents flash through her head 'If it wasn't for me maybe they would be here' she knew that wasn't true but her brain refused to let her believe it wasn't true.

"No it's not" he assured her. He sat in silence hugging her until she cried herself to sleep "I'm so sorry" he whispered softly in her hair. He wish there was something to do to make her feel better but he knew, all he could do was hold her tightly.

Five Months Ago
"Dang it, Pietro" Jack mumbled to himself putting his head on his forehead. It had been a month and he still could believe that his best friend.

"Hey Jack" Wanda said leaning against the doorway. He knew the kind of effects depression and loss had so he convinced her to move in with him to keep an eye on her, he didn't want to lose anyone else.

"Hey" he replied giving her a weak smile.

"Some of Pietro's friends called today" she then broke into tears "I couldn't even bring myself to tell them he was gone" He swiftly got out of the chair and moved across the room to her.

"I got you" He whispered softly hugging her. Even as she cried he couldn't help thinking how strong she was to still get up and out of bed 'that's the hardest part, to keep going on'

Two Months Ago
Wanda sat outside smiling as she watched a couple of squirrels.

"What are you so happy about?" Jack asked playfully as he sat next to her.

"I kind of fell in love Vision" she smiled with a small blush "I don't think I've ever felt this way before"

"Oh" he smiled happy for her even though it felt like someone stabbed him in the heart "That's great you"

"Thanks" she smiled "he is so charming kind of prince like"

"Every princess needs a prince" he nodded 'as long as she's happy that's all that matters' he thought to himself as he listened.

The Present

"Vision!" Wanda started tossing and Turing in her sleep. She really need sleep but these nightmares were only making things worse as red sparks started to form. Jack remembered a song from one of her favorite movies as a kid he gently hugged her and began to sing.

"If I had words, To make a day for you, I sing you a morning golden and new, I would make this day, Last for all time, Give you a night, Deep in moonshine, If I had words, To make a day for you" he softly sung into her ear until she was sound asleep. Once she was sound asleep he whispered "I promise I'm not going to let you go through this again"
