Back To Hogwarts

The next morning the three children were woken up to Leo clattering pans together. Harry was already up when he heard Leo. They all three dashed downstairs at the noise.

"Morning," Leo said innocently as if he wasn't just waking them up.

"Did you really have to wake us up?"

"Yes. You all are going back to Hogwarts; I meant what I said," he replied sassily.

"Can I get a pass since I started my period today?" Melody asked hopefully.

"I hate being a responsible parent," Leo groaned. He cleared his throat, "you do not get a pass, Melody."

"Nice try," Cedric laughed.

"If I have to make another batch of pancakes, I'm gonna lose it, so just eat at Hogwarts," Leo instructed. "Alright, well, go get dressed."

-
After everyone got dressed, they went back to Hogwarts. They all were attempting to go back to their common room when someone trailed behind them.

"I was just looking for you three!" The voice of Minerva McGonagall called. The three turned around to face her. "Please follow me to my office." They all went up to her office and sat down. "Cedric, Amos told me about the whole impersonating thing. Are you alright, dear?" She asked.

"Yes," he assured. "Thank you."

"Alright then. Down to business," she cleared her throat. "I'm a straight shooter, so I'm just gonna say it: You all are failing miserably." Cedric looked down shamefully. "I hate to tell you this, but your chances of passing the fifth year are very slim, sixth for you, Cedric."

"Can't I just make it up? Like I did last time?" Asked Melody.

"I'm afraid it won't be that simple. Last year you had a whole semester to make it up; now, you only have a few months," McGonagall informed. "Cedric, no one is blaming you for everything, but you are still required to turn in work."

"What am I exactly failing?" Harry asked.

"Everything except transfiguration," she informed. "And that's only because I'm letting you pass," she said. "Now, Cedric, there are solutions in your case. You could catch up on work by joining Melody's year, or you could attempt to finish it all in four months," McGonagall explained. "I recommend joining Melody's year, but it's up to you."

"I'll choose the second option, the four-month one."

Harry looked at Cedric disapprovingly. "That's more stress on you," Harry objected.

"Always liked a challenge," Cedric replied.

"Harry, a lot of studying should get you caught up. I'll alert professors to allow you to retake tests," McGonagall read. "And, Melody, you'll need a tutor."

"Fine by me."

"Elijah Wood will be tutoring you. He's consistent with passing in work on time, and he has some of the best marks in your year."

"Even better."

"You all are free to go."

They all left the office and headed back to their common rooms. Harry and Melody cuddled up on the couch instead of going back to sleep since they only had two hours.

"We still have like two hours until class. You sure you don't wanna study while we wait?" Harry questioned.

"I'll see Elijah after school. I'd much rather do this."

"Also, Melody, last night... not that I'm complaining, but where did that come from?"

Melody sighed. "I asked Draco for advice. I asked how to get my mind off Dahlia's death, and he said sex was how he got his mind off his father's death."

Harry sat up. "Malfoy? Seriously?" He asked surprisingly, with a hint of anger. "Melody, his father's death can't compare to your mother's. He hated his father, all he felt was pure anger towards you for killing him. You could've asked me if you wanted to talk."

"There are certain things I can talk to you about, Harry."

"Why? You're my girlfriend, Melody. You should be able to tell me anything."

"And I can tell you anything. But you wouldn't get it."

"Which is why you should tell me so that I can get it."

"It's more of experience, really." Melody sat up as well. "It's different for you. You haven't experienced death."

"Well, that's just not fair," Harry argued. He scoffed, "I'm gonna spend the remaining two hours in my dorm." He abruptly stood up and climbed the steps to the boy's dormitories.

-
Two hours later, Melody and Elijah were eating breakfast in the great hall since she and Harry had feuded hours earlier. Elijah was waiting for Melody to tell him why she was sitting with him, but after deciding that she wasn't going to talk, she asked.

"So, tell me why you're sitting here instead of at your usual table?" Elijah cocked an eyebrow.

"I said something..."

"And what did you say?" Melody then explained the whole conversation she and Harry had a few hours ago. "You need to apologize. You're making him feel guilty about having an alive family. Not something you should be so guilty about."

"I know, and I will. Now, what was it you wanted to tell me?" Melody questioned.

He took in a deep breath before answering. "Remember when you came back from your hearing, and I said I had to meet my dad?" Melody nodded. "So I got home, and my dad wasn't there yet; he left a note saying he would be home soon. I went upstairs to see if my mom was there, and she was, but she wasn't alone. I saw some random guy and my mom... you know..."

"Did you tell your dad?"

"No. I know I should, but I guess I'm just scared."

"Scared of...?"

"What will happen to my family. My mom and dad have been having... issues," he whispered the last part. "And I think this would drive their issues over the edge and into divorce territory. I know it's selfish to stay quiet, but I just don't know how to live without both my parents."

"Do you want my advice?"

"Please."

"I'd tell your dad. I can't tell you how life will be if they ever get divorced, but your dad deserves the truth."

"You're right. Thank you, Melody. Now, go apologize to Harry," he rushed.

Melody rushed over to sit by Harry, who tried to leave, but Melody caught his arm.

"I'm just trying to apologize."

"Well, you did," he said in an annoyed tone.

"I know I shouldn't have-"

"Correct. It's almost like you were making me feel guilty about having a good family, Melody," he responded. "It's not okay. If you're going to do this every time something like this happens, then..."

"Then what?"

"You know what. I've got to go. See you later."
