Don Volkov-Dominik

I watch as my son leaves not sure what to do. We've all dreamed of the day we could be reunited with our children but this was never what I imagined. I want to stop him, drag him back home, and forbid him from ever leaving but I don't move. Even as the door closed behind him I didn't move. I don't think anyone knows what to say.

Enzo was the first to head to the door, not knowing what he was doing we followed him to the room we were heading to. The room where one of my nieces may be. I know Luka told us not to but we had no choice we needed to know. When Enzo knocks on the door a housekeeper opens it giving the six of us a questioning look.

"Hi, we were wondering if we could talk to the people staying in this room?" Manuel uses his friendly tone with the woman.

"I'm sorry sir, the people staying in this room checked out a few minutes ago, I just started cleaning," The woman seems scared of us which doesn't bother me but Manuel thanks her and leads us away.

We walk to our car in silence, heeding my son's words we all silently agreed to wait to talk when we were sure we were alone. Manuel was the last to get in sitting in the driver's seat and putting the car into motion.

"Are we sure that was Luka?" Stefan asks, looking at me. I nod of course it was him he had his mother's eyes but my facial structure. I should've been able to tell the first time I saw The Roses but I didn't even give it much of a thought. Their job was to fade into the background and guard and they did it well.

"It was Luka, and if we used that information and take the chance that Corazon is either Adelina or Emma then what's the chance that the others are the other Aces and Roses?" I look around the car as we all think about Marco's question. We did not know the Aces' genders with any certainty but The Roses were two boys and a girl.

"The other two Roses knew what was happening that much I know, but if it was then why wouldn't they tell us?" Enzo asks.

"Luka seems to think that they would put us into some kind of danger," Manuel commented.

Andrés laughs humorlessly, "Yeah from the Aces. If they are all who we think they are then why did The Roses seem so sure The Aces would kill us."

"They wanted to protect us from them, Andrés. I can't say I blame them for what happened tonight and their reputation. It is plausible they don't remember us. We also don't know what they went through," I murmur.

"They've all been assassins for a long time and with training from The Unseen Nightmares who knows what they've been through," Stefan speaks with his quiet tone but we all know there was anger beneath it. We have all heard rumors about some of the less than ethical methods the training academy uses. No one bothers to prevent them because everyone uses The Unseen Nightmares and even if someone did it was most likely that person would end up dead.

"Some of them might not remember us," While it was clear Luka does and was probable that the other Roses do, we had no idea if the Aces do, which may be why they would be so ready to kill us the others nod. The kids were so young, I wasn't sure even Luis remembered what happened, so how could we expect any of them to.

"What are we going to do now?"

"If we do as Luka asked, wait for them to contact us and not mention anything."

"Or we could hire them for a job." It was a simple plan. To hire a group for The Unseen Assassins. You send the leader a request in various secure ways in the request is a short description of what the client wants and the client can also ask for a specific group. After that, a price is negotiated and terms are agreed on. If the client only wants to pay in cash as for the transaction to not be tracked in any way a meeting point would be set up. The client would meet with one of the assassins and pay for half of the mission once completed another meeting point would be agreed on and the rest of the money would be paid to the team.

"It would be a good way to ensure we see them again. They've had years to come to us. We have no guarantee that Luka will contact us anytime soon."

"Unless they don't take the mission." It was unknown how mission negotiations worked within The Unseen Assassins however if we hire them I don't think they would refuse.

"We've all seen how The Roses operate; they won't back out of a mission. No one trains for so long and has such a good reputation without working hard to build it. Everyone respects them so backing out of a mission assigned to them would cause people to question them which I doubt they will allow." I nod agreeing.

"Are we telling everyone else?" I don't want to keep anything a secret but telling our family would lead to the possibility of someone doing something stupid. As of right now I still was cautious of Luka's words. I wouldn't put him in any danger ever.

"Not yet, the more people who know the more potential problems we'll have. If Luka wants us to stay quiet then we should wait till we understand what is happening better. There has to be a reason he never contacted us."

The others nod in agreement and we arrive back at the hotel we were staying at for the week. We were ambushed the minute we walked out of the elevator everyone hoping for answers we need to keep from them. We tell them everything except Luka's reveal. Once they finish hounding us for details I go to my office here and am soon joined by my best friends and co-dons.

Marco walked to the minibar and made us each a drink as Manuel sat on one of the couches relaxing the same way he's done since we were kids learning from our fathers. Even before our mafias joined they worked closely with one another so the merge was not difficult. I began to type up the documents for The Unseen Nightmares using a job we needed to have done anyway for the mission and making it clear we only wanted The Roses for the mission. Once it was done I let Marco and Manuel look it all over then sent it through one of the channels for The Unseen Nightmares. The leader was known for their promptness so I know we can expect an answer by tomorrow before we head home to our home in Italy. We had homes in Italy, Spain, and Russia however the Italian one was closest to the heart of our mafia so we stayed there for most of the year.

"How do you think they will react?" Manuel asked with interest.

"Not well, as much as I want to believe that the six of them are The Roses and The Aces we need to consider that they were all split up. On top of that Luka told us he would be the one to initiate contact with this mission we may be forcing his hand." I nod in agreement with Marco's words. I may not know my son well but our family never reacts well to someone forcing them to do something.

After a while of discussing plans for the mafia and things we need to get done my friends leave to get sleep but I continue to work. I sigh as I picture one of my youngest sons, I was supposed to protect him. Aurora and Adrian trusted me to look after their son if something happened to them and I failed them too. Ezequiel and Luka should've been protected and at home loved by everyone. I ball my fist and then throw my glass against the wall and I fall back as it shatters against the wall. My sons were probably both assassins and had a terrible because we weren't able to protect them.
