Emilio's POV
Why Ems agreed to come here was beyond me but I knew the two both felt something off with how everyone was acting. Their cordialness with one another was strange, Adelina claimed The Roses had a business relationship with them but I had my doubts about their relationships. The idea that we may share blood with this family swirled in my head but I shut it down.
Three dons, their family, and two teams of assassins, if no one ends up dead I'll be shocked.
Emmy twirls the dagger she's holding her silent power radiating through the room, she didn't like the fact they didn't fear us. We ruled through fear. It was a sign of respect to our names but these people didn't seem to fear us; they were cautious but not afraid. One of the younger boys, Mateo I believe, attempts to shut down the plan we gave them and Ems glares and throws her dagger. It flew at his face but was knocked aside by a dagger from Adelina. The off-course dagger speared into a guard's chest and he collapsed. Most people in the room spring into action while Emmy fixes her glare on Mateo and Adelina.
Once the guard's body was taken from the room everyone was tenser keeping a close eye on Emmy who was playing with her hair as if she was oblivious to the anger in the guards around us. Adelina takes over the conversation disclosing more information about The Nightmares. It's a bore, Ezequiel tuned out of the conversation a while ago seeming to focus on the weird feeling this place had with these people around us. Emma sat like a queen as she interrupted and explained our true plan ordering everyone on what she wanted to be done.
She was a good leader and would be a perfect leader for The Nightmares. There wouldn't be any more political shit with us in charge. The strongest rule and the weak die. The motto we've lived by since we were transferred into our mentors' hands. Our mentors, Osprey, Falcon, and Eagle, the birds of prey team, raised us with that lesson. We weren't their first mentees, they went through many who died from the training and they had no hope for us. They seemed proud about how many of their 'students' failed and expected the same from us. They liked Ems, she killed that first boy for what he did to another girl we were friends with. They didn't know that though just that she was already a killer.
I remember her tears from that kill. Her guilt. Once we were transferred we all learned. She was terrified for us. We all were terrified but Em blamed herself for us being sent there. Then we were split up, forced to train or one of us would die. Effective motivation. When they let us see one another it was to fight, I didn't want to hurt either of them but learned that the only person who truly matters is yourself. Kill or be killed. Emmy knew that and always fought the hardest with no remorse. With each others' help, we have never slacked in our training, stay strong or die. Our mentors were weak so they were killed, they trusted us, underestimated us, and lost their lives for it.
The stories of the people our mentors killed fueled her, fueled all of us. They were so cocky as if they were invincible they thought they were better than us. They weren't and we showed them that. It was tradition for the legacy team to be killed in a ritual we chose to ignore it and we killed them when they weren't expecting it. Watching their blood pool was the best thing we have ever seen. By that point, we were some of the most experienced killers out there and The Nightmares initiated us into the organization as the legacy team quickly.
I remember the fear and awe in their eyes as they watched us. We held the power over them. We knew how to kill anyone and no one would stop us. Soon we would take our rightful place at the head of The Unseen Nightmares, they made us into who we are and they would be led by us. The leaders would pay for their crimes. We became strong and would use it to kill them.
I watch as Addy closes her eyes with no emotion as normal. The small hope the three of us had about that time being a nightmare was destroyed by her, Santiago, and Luka. They created a fantasy for us to believe in but it was shit no one saved us and they didn't even regret lying to us. We were given proof our blood was all dead and that the three knew it but lied to us anyways.
Two more of Emmy's daggers fly at Ze and me pulling me out of my thoughts enough for me to catch the knife before it kills me and Ze did the same. She pouted at the two of us who apparently missed one of her non-verbal cues. Our family stares at us mystified as I toss the dagger back to her ignoring the blood on my hand.
Emmy catches it easily and goes back to ordering everyone around and they listen either because they know she'll kill them if they don't or they actually want to participate in our plans. I watch Don Lombardi as he focuses on Emmalyn. He had a look in his eye that I didn't know if I liked or not. He didn't seem to want to kill her although she almost killed one of his family, that was partly her goal; rile them up and kill them when they attack, this wasn't expected they were one of the most loyal families they killed for a lot less.
One look at Ze and a nod from him Em jumps down and avoids the blood as she leads us out of the room concluding the meeting with a wave of dismissal. She was a queen in all things and I couldn't wait for her to be a leader.
We knew where their guest rooms were and claimed the biggest one for ourselves, it was technically a suite with a sitting room, a bedroom, and a bathroom. We jump onto the bed and I pull Em close as she kicks Ze for being too close and 'attempting to cuddle with her'. I share an eye roll with him and he lays down against a pillow staring at the ceiling.
"What do you guys think about them?"
"They're strange but seem to actually want to help," Em hums in agreement with me.
"Does this place seem weird to you guys like off in some way?"
Before we had time to think about the question some guards charge into the room and Em sighs. We sit up and Ze shoots the first two with one bullet and Em kills the rest with her daggers. I fall back on the bed as Emmy pouts about her dress being ruined. The family comes running in panicking as she goes to pick out a new outfit.
She beams at them as if there weren't five dead bodies on the floor, "Hello, you are aware it's rude to enter without knocking, right?"
Enzo's POV
Adelina sighs in exasperation once they are gone while the family has various emotions running through them the main one was concern. They were so young but so well trained they understood complicated operations and truly believed they could do it on their own. There was also an underlying sadness within everyone mourning the children the three were supposed to be.
Mateo still seemed pissed that Emmy would have killed him had Adelina not stepped in while the guards were on edge. They were loyal to the family but tensions were high among our staff with both The Aces and The Roses here. We followed Addy's advice in not disclosing their true identities to anyone in order to protect them and us. With what The Aces are dealing with it made sense to keep it a secret. The Unseen Nightmares have made them into their number one target and the three couldn't seem to care less focusing on minor details of their new mission and for Em her outfit. We were all looking for signs the six of them were still the little kids we lost but between The Roses not having any emotion and The Aces- well being The Aces it was clear they six went through a lot.
A series of bangs sent us running to the room where our three baby siblings claimed and Addy was the first to run through the open door and we find the boys lounging on the bed and Emmy pouting about her clothes as five bodies scattered the floor as they bled out.
