Fitz grinned as he watched the horrified faces of Tam and Keefe distort as Biana made her way into the way of the living once again.
The utter confusion laced with despair, as Biana grinned at them when she whipped out a delicate blade, snapping it by her side, the boy's faces brought a shiver of joy to Fitz's person.
It was almost like he was a young child again, pulling the blanket over his and Keefe's heads as Della poked her head in to tell them to go to sleep. The numerous monitors spread out like a fly's vision, gave Fitz a broad view of everything that had been going on in the training room between Zlo, Glimmer, Keefe, and Tam.
He merely watched like a villain with his hands pressed together in front of his face, grinning like a madman, slouched in his chair that had spinable wheels on the bottom.
He watched as his greatest handiwork did as she was supposed too.
Biana hadn't changed at all since Keefe had last seen her.
Her scars were still on her face and arms, her eyes still the brightest teal, and her face took on an expression of pure peace. That was the most eerie thing about her, the unbreaking, unwavering, calmness that wafted in the air in a tangible current trailing over Keefe's body.
As though she had no regrets for what she was about to do.And with as much torment as Tam looked like he was in right now, he still managed to get to his feet to face Biana.
Keefe didn't need to be an empath to be able to tell that Tam would fight her if it meant protecting them both from further harm."Wait wait wait- stop- hold it- back the t-rex up and whatever-" Keefe protested, scrambling to his feet and holding his hands out as though that would stop either of them.
Biana's piercing gaze didn't waver from Tam however- it hadn't even been a second between her disappearing and reappearing across the room, flicking blood off of her sword.
Keefe's hand flew up to his cheek as a small stinging sensation crawled over his cheekbone, and his fingers came away stained red.
Tam did the same, both boys getting similar marks on their faces from the elegant blade Biana held almost regally in her hand.
The instant Biana disappeared a second time however, Tam disappeared too, dissolving into the shadows.
That's when Keefe realized something- that's when he realized Tam had control over his ability again now that Glimmer was out of the picture and in a heap of blood on the floor.
Which meant they could shadow travel out of the Neverseen's base again.
What made Keefe confused was the fact that Tam hadn't already taken the both of them out of their current prison yet. That was- unless he couldn't- if Tam had used his ability too much it could kill him to try to escape, and with all the torture they had both had to endure, Tam probably didn't have any energy left for that.
Hope, as soon as it had sparked, flickered away at the desire to finally be out of this nightmare.
In the point five seconds it had taken for this all to flash through Keefe's brain, Tam had reappeared next to his side, and latched onto Keefe, an arm over his shoulder.
It was almost like Tam had read Keefe's mind as the two sunk into the shadow realm.
Keefe was about to scream just from the sensation of being melted through the ground, but noticed a certain asian boy went limp the second the shadows enveloped them.
"Tam?!" Keefe clutched the arm over his shoulders as the boy's head thumped against his back, gently holding him upright as well as turning so he could see if he was simply unconscious and not something worse.
