Keefe fell to the ground as he and Daenerys rolled onto a grassy knoll after the crystal's beam left them there.

He laid dazed for a minute, his mind still processing what just happened with where he was.

First, his surroundings seemed to have a strange building that was perched atop the hill they light leaped too, that overlooked some sort of forest that stretched on for miles on end.

Second, he vaguely remembered what just happened. Daenerys leaving Tam behind to get Keefe away from the Neverseen, and then the two of them light leaping to wherever they were right now after running into Linh and her telling them to get away as she too, was surrounded.

The way the twins were alike was eerily frustrating, both of them surrendering their freedom, and possibly their lives for Keefe's sake.

Though there was one difference between Tam and Linh to Keefe.
One he refused to admit.
Even if it was painstakingly obvious.

"TAKE ME BACK!" Keefe yelled right off the bat, scrambling to his feet. A rush of fury flooding through his veins.

If everyone else was going to stay and fight, then why couldn't he?
After all, he was one of the reasons there was a big showdown happening in the first place.

And the other was Tam, who got left in the middle of a group of Neverseen members without a way to escape.
Even at full strength, Tam wasn't powerful enough to manage to weasel his way out of there alive.

So he was either dead, or worse, captured and taken back to the nightmare they had been trying to escape.

Keefe tore his hands through his hair in frustration as Daenerys didn't seem to want to sit up, laying on her back panting for breath.

Why she was so exhausted, Keefe didn't know, all she did was a little bit of shadow travel.
Though to be fair, maybe it really was that draining of an ability and Tam just made it look easier than it actually was.

In that case, exactly how powerful was Tam if he could manage multiple shadow travels and still remain upright on his feet?

"Hey Keefe?" Daenerys mumbled, and it was obvious she was dazed to say the least.

His anger peeled away slowly, given there wasn't anything they could do at the moment, and deep down Keefe knew he would probably just get in the way of all the fighting.

"Yes?" Keefe turned to face her, finding her wiping some sort of light liquid from her mouth.

"I don't feel so good." She muttered before breaking into a hacking cough, more of the whitish gunk splattering the ground she bent over.

Yeah Keefe could tell that much, her own queasiness he could feel even without touching her standing a couple paces away.

"Okay so what happened, is this a side affect from light leaping after a shadow travel or something else or poison or . . .?" Keefe trailed off, squatting down next to her, pulling her black and red hair up so it was out of her face.

After a couple minutes of hacking, Daenerys got ahold of herself and sat back on her heels.
"The word poison brings back a memory, but I don't know why . . ." But then she paused, looking confused for a moment before saying.
"A couple months ago me and Stina were searching the Everglen ruins, and there seem to be a few gaps in my memory from then. I didn't notice until now but I think we found something then that we weren't supposed too."

Even at this point, while yes, Keefe was a little concerned with Daenerys' current well being, he also was still distracted by the thought of what was probably happening with the rest of his friends at that moment, especially considering he just met Daenerys a couple minutes ago.
