Fitz really wasn't in the mood to argue with Sophie Foster right now.
Especially not after his time with Dex had been cut short because of Sora alerting Fitz that Sophie was near something she shouldn't be.Sora had practically dragged Fitz out of Dex's house and did his whole Inugami speed run over here, explaining on the way that he sensed Haru's presence near a sword capable of expelling souls.
Fitz's brain had to stop for a minute to comprehend the importance of this.
A soul expelling sword.
And it was in Haru's hands.
Granted, Sora explained that Inugami could not activate the sword, and only humans or elves could.
So that made Fitz wonder, if Sophie could even activate it at all, her being created by the Black Swan and all.But by the looks of it, Fitz guessed that Sophie had no idea what the sword was capable of, as she seemed conflicted as to whether the sword was worth fighting him for or not.
But Haru definitely did, and their hands were clutched so tightly around the hilt so that their knuckles were white with tension.
"Over my dead body." Haru glared, locking eyes not with Fitz, but with Sora, who only seemed to take this as an excuse to laugh.
Sora's chuckle seemed maniac as he grinned slyly, narrowing his eyes at Haru."That can easily be arranged." Sora purred.
"That's what you said the last time when I left you frozen underwater for two weeks." Haru spat back, rolling their eyes as they pulled the blade closer to themselves.
As he mentioned before, Fitz was not in the mood for batting around the bush.
If he hurried with this than he could still make it back to Dex for the rest of the day until he had to be back with the Neverseen.
He'll admit, it was stressful balancing his own personal choices with those he was obligated to in relation to the Neverseen.
But as he mentioned, Fitz had no time to dwindle on the thoughts he was currently hosting about his personal time.Fitz didn't need to pass his thoughts onto Sora telepathically for him to understand he wanted this over as quickly and painlessly as possible.
Sora leapt backwards, the water in the air stretching oddly to act like a trampoline to launch him over the treetops. His hands flew out as he was in the sky, and water started to drain out of the jungle plants around, rising into the air into an orb above Sora's palms, growing to the size of a car.
The vegetation around them crumpled into dust, making them stand in a crater with dry dirt and crumbly branches falling from what used to be trees.
This all happened in less than five seconds, and Haru hardly had time to raise their hands for a counter attack before Sora slammed the orb crashing down towards Sophie and Haru.
Fitz now got to marvel at the wonder of Sora's power for the first time, yet it was still pulled short when the water that sprayed everywhere when it clashed with Haru.
Once the water settled, Fitz's gaze rested on the slightly glowing ice dome that was around Sophie and Haru.
Haru's hands were raised towards the sky, and then one arm dropped as if they were pulling a string back on a bow, both hands shifting to aim at Sora. With the release of Haru's pointer fingers, the ice dome surrounding them and Sophie shattered and arced through the air, coming to rain down on Fitz and Sora.
Sora twisted, pulling water from trees and plants again, making their decayed crater even larger, to catch the falling icicles before they hurt him or Fitz.
