"I don't know where I'd be if it wasn't for you. I can't thank you enough for being by my side all this time, I can't give you enough love. The love you deserve." Sunghoon whispered to what it seemed like a lifeless apartment. "I will cherish you, I will cherish your love forever."

"We may have not been enough in this life— and we might not be for a long time. But, I promise we will another time. There will be another time for us, so I'll be wait for you at the end." He gave her a smile. "You have to let me go now, the sooner you let me go, the sooner we'll be with each other again."

Seoyeon looked up to him, her vision blurred with the pool of tears setting in her eyes. The only sound was being filled up by the sound of her cries. She shook her head again, again, and again as she closed her eyes, the tears falling. She refused to believe what was going on, she was in denial of the situation. Not ready for it.

"You can't leave me, you can't leave me yet. We haven't finished our bucket list; we haven't made our tiramisu cake, danced i—in the rain like you wanted. You promised to read my favourite book, we haven't even found yours. You can't leave!"

"That's why you need to do that for me when I'm gone. You need to make the best tiramisu cake out there, read your favourite book out loud so I can hear your beautiful voice still. Your voice... you need to let me hear it so I never forget it."

"I don't need to find a book when our story is unbeatable," he whispered.

"Please—please don't do this to me. You can't do this to me, you wouldn't do this Sunghoon, not to me." She clenched his hands, refusing to let him go. "You wouldn't leave me, please."

"Don't you ever forget me, Choi Seoyeon. I'll be very disappointed in you if you do." He chuckled, squeezing her hands.

He dropped their hands in his lap, unclamped his bracelet to gently slide it onto her wrist. "You'll never forget me with this on. If you ever need me, all you have to do is look down. I'll be looking up at you already, I'll always be right here." He kissed her palm.

He brought her head towards his, letting his lips linger on her forehead as he brushed the back of her head delicately. He pulled her away, "my heart may be fading away slowly, but it still beats for you. It'll always be beating for you."

"We'll be with each other again, I promise. We'll meet again and never leave each other's side, I promise you that my love. For now... I need to go. I need to go home." He gave her one last kiss before he stood back up. He turned and made his way towards her bedroom door.

"N—no." Seoyeon tried to reach out. "You can't."

Sunghoon turned his head with a smile on his face, "you'll always be my favourite houseguest Seoyeon."

"Stop it," she whispered. With every inhale of oxygen, it was like she was getting less and less air. She could barely breathe in without her chest burning. "Don't do this to me."

"I'll always be by your side my love. I'll always remember you."

"I will always love you." He whispered one last time. With his final wave and smile, he turned his head and walked into the bedroom... out of her site.

one.

She sucked a deep breath in before scrambling up from the ground, running into her bedroom. All she wanted was to see Sunghoon standing in front of her window, all she needed was to see Sunghoon. His body, his smile, his hair, his eyes... she needed to see him.

"Sunghoon! Sunghoon!" She screamed in agony. Her body dropped onto the ground, her face falling into her bedsheet. Ear ripping screams being concealed by the comforter.

Arms were tightly wrapped around her body, pulling her into their chest. By the familiar scent, she knew it was Heojun. "I—I'm so sorry Seoyeon. I'm so sorry." His voice cracked, but he swallowed it down as best as he could for her.

"He's not gone, he's not gone. Please, he can't be gone." She fisted his jacket in her hands, afraid that he would leave her too. "Bring him back, please bring Sunghoon back to me." She weeped in his arms.

"I wish... I would just for you." He concealed her screams in his arms.

Her heart. Her heart was becoming hallow with him. It was fading and became heartless like his. Sunghoon was gone. The dreadful end she couldn't imagine has become reality. His time has now come to its end.

She now understood what he meant when he said your first death is when you lose the most important thing in your life. Seoyeon was experiencing her first death.
