Rick stepped closer, his breath steady. He saw the cuts on my jaw and frowned, pulling me close.
Rick smiled, then noticed my tears. He didn't say anything, he just hugged me. And I let my tears fall harder. When he pulled away he said, "Did he hurt you again?" I nodded. "That son of a bitch. I swear to god, I'll kill him for you. Just give me the word." I smiled, pulling him in for another hug. He was warm, his T-shirt had his smell all over it, and I loved his smell.
I grabbed his shirt and inhaled. He smiled. "You really love my prescence, don't you?" I nodded, and smiled. He pulled me in closer, and kissed the top of my head. I smiled and stood on my toes. I looked up and kissed his lips, surprising him, then he returned the kiss.
We stood there for at least a minute, lips entwined, arms wrapped around each other. I could feel his smile through the kiss. It was adorable. When he pulled away, we sat down on the sand, and eventually laid down. We kissed again, for a shorter time. We cuddled for a while, then we got on my motorcycle, and headed to my house.
When we got there, we instantly went to my bedroom, closing the door behind us. Rick sat on my bed, and I joined him. The silence that filled the room was unbearable. I pushed him down on my bed, putting my hand under his shirt, and onto his abs.He laughed. He put his hands under my shirt as well and placed them on my waist. We kissed for a few moments, then laid down together.
I laughed, forgetting the pain of two nights before, when my father struck me. "So, where did your travels take you?" Rick would travel every year, so I would only see him a week at a time.
"All over. I just wanted to be here, with you though." He hesitated. "Florence. I went to Florence. It was beautiful. You should go there with me sometime." I nodded, wrapping my arms around his neck. I kissed his dry, warm lips, hugging him.
We laid down, nestled up against each other. He was so warm, my cold body seemed to burn next to his. He was like the sun, and I, the moon. He smiled, grabbing my hand. I was caught off guard as I looked at Rick. He was sleeping. Rick looked at me, tired eyed. I shook my head.
Rick was a vampire. He had bright orange eyes that blazed like fire, and golden hair. When vampires see blood, they need it instantly. We only had one incident, and it was how we met. (I'll explain in two chapters in Rick's POV.) I had saved him with my blood.
I grabbed the last bottle of whiskey, and sat up. I sipped at the bottle, Rick having a few sips inbetween. "So, what does transformation feel like?" I looked him in the eye, awaiting an answer. His expression turned dark. "It feels like hell. Like someone stabs you in the heart, cuts it out, and eats it in front of you."
I hugged him, wondering what it really would feel like. He held me tighter, and laughed a tiny laugh. I fell asleep soon after that.
When I woke up, my window was open, and a note lay on my windowsill. I regret to inform you that I had to go to work. Sorry. Meet me at my house at nine. See you then. I smiled, folding the note and storing it on my dresser. I stripped and headed to the shower, bringing a towel with me. I turned on the shower and stepped in, pulling the hair out of my face.
I placed my hands on the front wall in the shower, and felt my cheek stinging. It began bleeding faster and faster, more red appearing at the bottom of the shower. I felt faint, and fell to my knees. "Did I...seriously lose this much...blood?" I leaned my head on the wall and felt the hot water hitting my cheek and falling to the ground.
