When I arrived at school, I parked my motorcycle in my favorite spot and sat there for a moment. I breathed in and out slowly, trying to regain confidence. The school looked so much better from the outside than the inside. I got off of my bike and began to step towards the school, seeing how amazing the sunrise was.

I smoothed my dress and stepped into the school, quietly walking to my locker. My heart stopped as I saw people glance at me, then double take, then stare. I opened my locker and grabbed my satchel that held my books.

I walked to my first period class and slumped down in my seat. Ah, the perfect hellhound. She'll wonder where I've been. As if summoning the question, the teacher asked me where I'd gone. I replied with a "New York".

I didn't notice Garrett was gone until the end of class. I'd just thought he was being quiet. I got a little scared that I didn't have a hall guardian. I walked out of the door and headed to my next class. Brown-haired-bitch (see chapter one paragraph two) watched me walk through the halls and smiled grimly.

At the end of second period, she confronted me. "What's up, freak?" I continued walking. "I noticed that your guardian angel isn't here today. It must be hard to be such a bitch all alone in your puny world." I continued walking. "I wonder what would happen if he never came to school again. Hm...maybe I'll find out." I stopped walking. "Are you attempting to threaten me? If so, I won't hesitate to make your life a living hell." She crossed her arms and frowned. "Am I threatening you? Yes. Will I carry out my threat? Well, yes. I will win this game."

She didn't confront me for the rest of school. When I left the school, I drove to Rick's house. I knocked on the door, and Rick's mom answered. She hugged me and motioned for me to come inside. "Rick is in his room." I opened the door and saw that Rick was wrapped in a towel. I looked away. "Sorry." He laughed. "Its fine. What brought you here?" "My dad got married last week, and now she's moving in." He finished changing and sat me down on his bed.

"How the hell did that happen? He's an asshole." I shook my head and told him that she was creepy. We snuggled for a bit, and I left after we watched a romance movie. "What's with the outfit? You never dress up." I explained. "Well, do it more often. I love it."

It was seven when I got home. Pretty late. Hope dad doesn't freak out. I opened the door and peered inside. Nobody here. I saw that there was a note on the fridge.

Sweetie,

Me and Sara are going out tonight to meet up with some friends. We'll be home when you wake up. Dinner's in the fridge.

Sleep well.
Daddy loves you!

"Ugh." I showered and put on a lacy nightgown and headed downstairs. Peering in the fridge, I saw my dinner. Chicken, stuffing, potatoes and sniff sniff chicken gravy.

Once I finished my dinner, I went to my room and fell asleep.

A frightening darkness engulfed me, and soon, I was pulled out of the darkness and into a forest. A tall blonde girl who looked to be my age stared at me, whilst also holding my arm. She smiled warmly when she was done staring. While hugging me, large white wings extended from her back. She mouthed something, and I had no idea what she was saying, but I could make out one word. 'You'.

After waking up, I put on a pair of comic book leggings and a black long sleeved shirt. Sara had prepared breakfast, but I wasn't hungry. "Bye. I'm going to stay at my friend" think "Alyssa's house tonight. Is that alright?" My dad hesitated and Sara told me it was fine. "Thanks!" I kissed Sara on the cheek and ignored my dad's face, which was full of hatred.

I left for school and went through the normal day, Garrett wasn't there again. I began to grow concerned.

At the end of the day, I called Rick. He also didn't know where Garrett had gone, but he knew where he lived. I called his residence, nobody answered. He also told me that he hadn't seen Garrett for a week.

"Hello, Alice." Ashton was behind me. "Surprise...sadness...aw...how cute. What's up?" I explained to him and he didn't seem to care until I brought the brown-haired-bitch's threats. "Wait...tall brunette chick with the attitude?" I nodded. "She actually lives up to her threats. What'd she do?"

"She asked me what would happen if Garrett never came back." He mumbled under his breath. "Shit. She really hates you. Welp, see you later."

I drove to Garrett's house and knocked on the blue door. A tall woman with a bun on the top of her head answered the door. WHY DOES SHE HAVE BREAD ON HER HEAD!? I ignored the loaf of burnt bread and she pulled me inside. "Hey, are you Garrett's friend? I need your help. This bread isn't cooperating with my skills."

She ended up watching me make bread and sitting me down for tea afterwards. "So, what brought you here? Are you my Garrett's gal-pal?" I shook my head and laughed nervously. "He hasn't been to school for a while. I'm just a bit worried. That's all." She drooped her head in sadness.
"I was hoping that you two were together. Bummer. Garrett hasn't been to school because he's pretty sick. He's been in the hospital. Would you like to see him?" I nodded and we departed.

"Garrett got this condition that my husband says he's never seen. Apparently, it's making Garrett's supernatural side active all night, but not during the day." Confusing... "I feel like I'm intruding here. I just met you, and now I'm going to see your son in the hospital." She smiled tenderly at me. "Sweetie, any friend of Garrett's is a friend to me. We're best friends."
