First Person POV

We step up to the door and open in slowly, a small bell dings to signal to the owner that someone has entered. The cottage is full of wood carvings of small and large proportions. An old woman is working on a carving.

"Oh, look around. You holler if you see anything you like. Everything is half off." The woman says as she continues to work.

Meridan and I share a look before he speaks up. "Uh...who are you?"

The woman continues her work. "Just a humble woodcarver."

"But-" I start to say before Meridan interupts me.

"Um...I don't understand."

The woman starts to show off her woodcarvings to us. She was extremely proud of her work. I glanced to the side of the room and my eyes go wide. Her broom was sweeping the floor on its own.

A soft scream escapes my lips and Meridan looks over seeing the broom. He couldn't believe what he was seeing.

"Your broom!" Meridan points at the floating broom.

The old woman snaps her fingers and the broom falls to the ground.

Meridan throws his hands out towards the broom. "It was sweeping by itself!"

"That can't be possible!" I follow suit in Meridan's hysteria.

The woman waves her hand slightly in a disregarding way. "That's ridiculous! Wood cannot be imbued with magical property. I should know, I'm a wi...whistler...of wood!" She tried to cover up her mistake, but we caught on.

Meridan then tries to touch the woman's crow.

"That's stuffed." She said.

As Meridan slowly extends his hand to touch the crow, it suddenly snaps its beak at him and speaks.

"Stay off the crow!"

Meridan quickly pulls his hand back yelping. "Aah! The crow's talking!"

The crow continues to talk concerning both Meridan and I. "See what else I can do! La-la-la-la-la-"

Suddenly the old woman snaps her finger and the broom lifts up, off of the ground by itself and knocks the crow out and sweeps it across the floor.

Meridan and I turn to the woman and point at her. "You're a witch!"

The witch points her finger up, fighting us on what we said. "Woodcarver!"
