Hey everyone! Sorry it's been so long since I updated this story. I'll try and get some writing done on this, so you can have more to read. Third Person POV

When the cold wind's a calling
And the sky is clear and bright
Misty mountains sayin' and beckon
Meet me out into the light

Meridan and (Y/N) ride out into the forest as Meridan pulls his box off his back. He removes an arrow from his quiver and quickly places it onto his bow as he pulls back the string and takes a shot hitting a bullseye.

He quickly pulls two arrows from his quiver putting one in his mouth the other going on the bow as he takes another shot hitting bullseye once more. He removes the arrow from his mouth and prepares to take a shot. He releases hitting a bullseye on a tree target.

I will ride,

Meridan continues hitting target after target as (Y/N) follows close behind admiring his skill. Meridan had been teaching her archery, but she still wasn't up to his skill. Meridan makes Angus jump over a large fallen log and takes a final shot, bullseye once more.

Meridan and (Y/N) sat in some grass and Angus and (H/N) roll around playing together. The two gently carving into Meridan's bow. Meridan carver a bird like the one in the sky above while (Y/N) carved a small bear cub. Meridan and (Y/N) finish their carving and look up to one another smiling. Meridan knew he'd cherish this bow forever.

Where darkness hides secrets
And mountains are fierce and bold
Deep waters pour perfections

Meridan stands behind (Y/N) as she holds his bow. He helps move her arms into place and lines up her shot. He spoke calming words in her ear to relax her and take the perfect shot. Meridan gently guides her hand back pulling the string with it. He brushes his hand against her fingers bringing them back to her cheek.

"Steady.. take a breath.. then shoot when you're ready." Meridan spoke softly.

(Y/N) does as told, breathing in and slowly letting it out. She focuses on the target and let her fingers loose letting the arrow fly. She stays firm not wanting to move too soon to mess with the arrow. The arrow hits its mark hitting slightly low, but still on the edge of the red bullseye.

She smiles bright and jumps up cheering. "I did it!!"

Meridan smiles watching her celebrate. Her smile was so beautiful and bright. He didn't wanna miss a second of it.

(Y/N) quickly puts the bow down and turns to Meridan. She runs and jumps up hugging him tightly. "I did it! I did it!"

"Indeed you did." Meridan blushes softly wrapping his arms around the girl with a smile on his face. She was much smaller in size than him, but he didn't care. She was so happy and hugging him. That's all that mattered.

Meridan and (Y/N) are climbing up a tall rock formation in front of the falls. Meridan is above (Y/N) and is almost to the top. She slips beneath him and he quickly looks down hoping to grab her if she falls, but she remains footing and smiles up at him. The two continued to climb up.

Meridan pulls himself up and stands at the top of the rocks. He couldn't believe he had done it. He looks at the waterfall in front of him grinning. (Y/N) reaches her hand up grabbing the top of the rocks. She starts pulling herself up which alerts Meridan. He turns and helps her stand as well. She smiles to him then looks past seeing the waterfall. Her eyes go wide at the sight.

The two step up to the water and cup their hands to catch some of the water falling. They bring their hands back to their lips and drink. Then they look at each other laughing a bit. They had done it.

And touch the sky...

The two cheer and dance around a bit on top of the rocks together. These are the times when they are most happy.

The two sadly had to saddle their horses and ride back to the castle. Without all the stops, the travel was quick as the two crossed the bridge once more. Sadly, this meant they were back in the confinements of their society.

"I'm starving. You hungry too Angus?" Meridan asks as he dismounts off his horse and starts to walk around him. Angus wacks Meridan in the face causing (Y/N) to giggle. Meridan looks to (Y/N) giving her a jokingly stern look. Then he spoke to Angus again. "Oats it is then."

Angus whinnies trying to get better food, but Meridan chuckles giving him oats. (Y/N) puts (H/N) away and feeds her as well. She smiles and pets her muzzles gently before turning to Meridan. "Are you ready?"

"I'm never ready, but at least I have you with me." Meridan smiles to the girl causing her to blush softly. He chuckles a bit and pulls her close, ruffling her hair a bit. She hits at his hands trying to get him to stop which makes him laugh more. "Come on, we better hurry before mum gets mad."

"Hey that's my line." (Y/N) says as she tries to fix her hair.

"Too slow today princess." He chuckles heading for the castle.

(Y/N) quickly catches up with him. "That's you, ya doof."

Meridan chuckles and smiles looking down at her. "I know."

The two make their way inside the castle where their world is soon to be turned upside down.
