First Person POV

"Mom, you're....you're a bear! You're a bear! Oh, that scaffie witch gave me a gammy spell!!"

Eleanor, now unable to speak, turns to Meridan  with a shocked look on her face.

Meridan  throws his hands up in defense, "It's not my fault! I didn't ask her to change you into a bear. I just wanted her to change...you."

Eleanor growls at Meridan in anger and starts pacing the floor as if she was telling him off like normal, but it had no effect since she couldn't talk.

"There's no point in having a go at me! The witch is to blame! Googly eye!" Meridan  throws his hands up.

"Hey hey hey! Both of you! This is not doing us any good," I say to the two.

Eleanor just wanders over, picking up her crown and tries to put it on her head.

Meridian kept ranting, "I'll go over to her place. Unbelievable! I'll get her to fix this."

I was about to try and calm Meridan  down, but his mother went to the door and tried to leave. My eyes went wide as I grabbed Meridan 's arm before rushing to her

"My queen no!" I call, trying to get her away from the door.

Meridian realized what was happening and rushed over too, "Mom, you can't go out there! Mom! What are you doing!"

"Eleanor please, listen to us!" I say a bit panicked.

"Dad! The Bear King! If he so much as sees you, you're dead!" Meridan  yells slightly, trying to get her to listen. Suddenly, Meridan  stiffens up; we both hear his father coming towards us followed by the lords. Meridan looks to me and I look back at him. We knew we had to get Eleanor out of there.
We looked to Eleanor and find she's already walking the other way. We quickly follow after her.

Meridan  calls, "Mom! Wait!"

As we try to stop Eleanor from sneaking out of her room, Meridan snatches off Eleanor's bed sheet that she had wrapped around herself, "Stop!"

Eleanor, feeling embarrassed, tries to cover herself up.

Meridan  was getting a bit annoyed with his mother, "You're covered with fur! You're not naked! It's not like anyone's gonna see you!"

I turn, hearing a soft gasp. In that moment, Maudie appears, standing in the hallway looking at them in shock.

Eleanor waves at her in her normal, welcoming way, but instead, she's met with Maudie's scream as she runs off.

"Now you've done it," Meridan  groans motioning in the direction Maudie ran off in.

"Meridan , you're being quite rude, calm down. We can figure this out," I say, trying to calm the prince.

Eleanor stumbles away from us and pushes open a door, inside are the triplets playing.

Meridan  and I quickly rush over as Meridan  starts to explain, "A witch turned mom into a bear. It's not my fault. We've got to get out of the castle. We need your help!"

The triplets cross their arms and staring up at Meridan . I knew these three well enough to know they wanted compensation for helping.

Meridan  groans slightly, "Oh, alright! You can have my desserts for two...three weeks!"

One of the boys indicates with his hand that Meridan  needed to increase the offer. These boys were not playing around when sweets were on the line.

"Fine! A year!" Meridan  says.

The triplets nod their heads in agreement. Now, to get Eleanor out of the castle. This was going to be hard.

We quickly sneak our way out of the castle and away from any prying eyes. Once we were outside, Eleanor turns and gives a worrying look towards the triplets. I knew the look she held in her eyes. She was afraid the boys woild get hurt, but Meridan  and I know they can handle themselves. If they can sneak through the castle to steal pastries and sneak a 200 pound black bear outside without being seen, they can survive a few hours without us.

"They'll be fine. Won't you, boys? Mom, we've got to hurry!" Meridan  reassured his mother before pushing her forward. I help Eleanor forward as Meridan  turns back to the boys.

"Now, I'll be back soon. Go on and help yourself to anything you want, as a reward," Meridan  smiles to them before closing the door behind himself.

Why did I have this strange feeling that something was going to go wrong? I shrug it off as we continue towards the forest.
