"Rain wait up!" Rain waited patiently as her best friend was chasing her.
"Ang bilis mo maglakad! Screw that long legs of yours." Kim complained and Rain just chuckled.
"The great and famous Cerise Kim Priestley, how nice to see you chasing me" Rain teased Kim. Her best friend hates chasing Rain dahil sa mas maliliit ang hakbang nito kaysa sa kaibigan niya. Cerise Kim is a model. Even though she's kinda small, saksakan naman ito ng ganda.
"Cut the crap Rain. Tita Chrys called, may sasabihin daw siyang importante."
Wala nang nagawa si Rain kundi sumunod sa kaibigan. Ano nanaman kayang sasabihin ng tita Chrysalis nila? She's hoping that this will be a good one since their tita Chrys is full of surprises.
They arrived at Heavens Café and as they enter the café, they immediately saw their tita Chrys waving at them.
"You guys are already 17 yet you're still slow. I told you Kim, be hear at 4 pm what time is it?" Chrysalis said with an irritated voice.
"It's 4:06 tita we're just 6 minutes late stop over reacting. Did you bring Cheska with you? Your daughter really wanted to spend time with me tita. Tumawag sya kagabi." Kim responded to Chrys. Rain on the other hand is just listening to their conversation while sipping on the coffee she ordered a while ago. She's not a fan of talking.
Rain went to the cashier to ask for some napkins. As she head back to their table, dumating ang pamangkin nyang si Cheska at nilagpasan nito si Rain.
Rain just shook her head while she chuckled dahil mas malapit ang loob ni Cheska kay Kim kesa kay Rain.
"Ate Kim! I missed you! Ate Rainnn!" Cheska hugged Kim tightly at pumunta rin ito kay Rain upang yakapin din siya.
"You're growing too fast kiddo! How old are you already?" Rain asked.
"Ate I'm not a kid anymore. I'm already 11 years old. Wag mo nakong tawaging kiddo" Rain just laughed about Cheska's response and proceeded to talk about why they were here.
"So I was thinking, since it's summer of 2019 and it's so boring, how about I enroll you guys ng Taekwondo? You'll love it I promise you! Cheska wants to attend kaya lang wala syang kasama kaya kayo nalang. Kayo lang inaasahan ko" Their tita Chrys stated.
Rain didn't like socializing but if it's for her cousin, she'll do it.
"Sure. But I should let mom know about this first before going. When will it start?" Rain replied.
"Monday ng 2 pm hanggang 4 pm. You have 3 days to think about it. I will be paying your monthly session but you guys will pay your promotions, dobok, and competitions. Deal?" Chrysalis said with a big smile on her face.
"Fine by me." Kim replied.
"Okey dokey for me" Rain responded in a sarcastic way.
"I already told Shane, your cousin, and your another cousin Kuya Rich ang mag hahatid sundo sainyo. It's settled then but we have to go." Their tita stated. They parted ways and Rain saw her mother watering the plants.
"Hello mommy! I have news for you" Rain greeted her mom with a minimum smile on her face.
"Let me guess, this is about your tita Chrys' plan for the summer diba? She already told me and I said yes. It's a nice idea Rain para naman makalabas ka rin sa kwarto mo at para self defense na rin diba just in case." Her mom said.
As Rain heard "self defense" she immediately remembered her trauma of men. Rain is a victim of harassment but didn't let her mom know because she didn't want to be a burden. She suffered alone and it was difficult kaya naman sumang ayon ito sa plano ng kanyang tita Chrys upang ma depensahan ang sarili niya sa susunod na mangyari ulit iyon sakanya.
"Fine mom. If you need me I'll be at my room"
Later that night, her mom returned to Bulacan. Doon nagtatrabaho ang kanyang ina kaya kinailangan nitong pumunta ng Bulacan. Hinatid ito ni Rain sa bus station at nagpaalam.
3 days have passed and they're on their way to the gym. They were all nervous dahil wala silang experience sa kahit ano mang sports.
They arrived safely and as soon as they stepped in, their team mates were staring at them. They were all girls. Rain wondered why there were no men and the coach noticed Rain's confusion. The coach said na magkaiba ang oras ng training nilang baguhan kaysa sa mga colored belts. May tatlong Blue belters sa silid na iyon upang tumulong na itrain ang mga bagong dating.
Nagsimula ang training at hingal na hingal na agad si Rain sa warm up nila. Stretching began and it hurt as hell. She felt her hamstrings stretched and she was in the verge of crying. Her pain tolerance can never.
After stretching, the coach taught them words and phrases about the sport. The blue belters taught them basic kicks and warmed up afterwards. They all felt exhausted and tired.
As they went back to their homes, they immediately fell asleep.
May training sila every other day. One week of training has passed and their body still aches.
Monday came and they were a little early this time. They waited for their coach and started warming up when the coach arrived. As they were stretching, a long haired girl entered the gym. Rain saw the girl bowed to their coach and the girl looked at her direction.
Rain felt very concious about her appearance. Is my hair tied up well? Is there something on my face? Rain said to herself. She stared at the girl's eyes and she froze. She had a crush on her THAT fast. She was captivated by the girl's mesmerizing hazel eyes. May pagka singkit ang mata ng dalagang ito na mas lalong napa titig si Rain dahil dito. Mahaba ang buhok nito at matangkad. Hindi nya matanggal ang tingin nya sa dalagang ito.
"It's normal to have a girl crush. You have lots of girl crushes right? You're still straight." said the voice on the back of her head.
Back when she was in Junior High School, she had a lot of girl crushes. She was convinced it was normal and she's straight. She can't fall into the same gender as her.
She quickly erased all her thoughts and went to focus on her stretching.
"Chelsea go and stretch." Sir Castillo or their coach/instructor said to the girl.
Chelsea.
Rain whispered with a smile on her face.
