Chapter eighty three: I'm finally getting there

(Jen's P.O.V)

Life is getting so much easier now. It's been two months since it all happened and I think I'm finally starting to accept it. I want to move on and forget about it, but I don't want to forget about my little baby.

Brad and I have agreed to have a date night tonight, so Drea is babysitting for us. We were going to send them to Brad's parents for the night but the girls insisted on going to 'Auntie Dreas' house.

It's 5pm and Drea has just picked up the kids, so now I can go and take a shower. I still don't know if I'm ready to have sex yet, but I'm going to shave just in case... I never know what'll happen when I'm on a romantic date night with my husband... something we haven't done for a long time.

I submerge myself under the hot flowing water and I scrub my hair using coconut scented shampoo and conditioner. Once my hair is nice and soft, I use a deep conditioning hair mask and leave that in whilst I wash my body. I use a mint scented body wash and shave my entire body. Once I've rinsed the hair mask out, I turn the shower off and climb out, wrapping a towel around my head and body.

I'm sitting at my vanity, with the towel still wrapped around my body, as I start to blow dry my hair. I straighten it and put some oil onto it so it's nice and silky.

"You're looking stunning already" Brad says standing in the doorway of the dressing room

"Really? I haven't got any make up on, I'm not dressed and all that's done is my hair"

"You don't need make up to look stunning, you're naturally beautiful"

He walks over and gives me a kiss before hopping in the shower himself. I finish getting ready by applying a minimal makeup look, focusing on my eyes and then I go to decide what to wear.

After what seems like ages contemplating between two dresses, I finally choose a simple black off the shoulder dress that goes to just above my knees. I pair it with a pair of silver heels and some new jewellery that Brad gave me recently.

"Oh wow, you look- wow" Brad says he walks closer to me

"Thank you baby, you don't look too bad yourself... you scrub up quite nicely"

"Shall we go my lady?"

"Yes, but first..." I walk closer to him and cup his face with my hands. I bring my lips to his and attach them in a slow, passionate kiss. A few minutes later, I pull away breathless and smile at him

"What was that for babe?"

"No reason, I just wanted to kiss you"

"I love you"

"I love you too"

Jen and Brad are now at the restaurant. They have decided on going to a cute little Italian restaurant that does amazing food. Jen orders a pizza and Brad orders Spaghetti. While they are waiting for their food, they are sipping on wine and enjoying time, just the two of them.

"I actually can't remember the last time we did this" Jen says as she reaches for his hand across the table

"I think it was before River was born. Wow, I can't believe it's been that long"

"It's true when they say three kids takes up all of your time, but I wouldn't have it any other way"

"Neither would I babe. We are here now, so let's enjoy it while it lasts"

"Y'know what, Pollyanna said the funniest thing to me today" Jen says taking a sip of her wine

"Really? What did she say?"
