S1 EP7 - Refraction

Eva opened the door of James' room to see that there was nobody there. She went downstairs and down into the lab to see James asleep at the chair.

Eva: James?

James wakes up.

James: Yeah. What's up?

Eva: Have you been down here all night?

James: Possibly. And by that I mean yes.

Eva: Why?

James: I've been looking through dad's notes. This always bugged me. He said that he checked my DNA. How did he do that? He was a neuroscientist, how did he know what irregularities to look for?

Eva: It's great that you're getting into this. But you need to take care of yourself. You can't just stay up all night reading between the lines of you father's notes. Plus, you need to get ready for school. I'll see you tonight.

James: Tonight? What's happening tonight?

Eva: The open house at your school. I get to see your work and talk to your teachers.

James: So it's parent's evening.

Eva: Yes, it is the exact same concept.

James: I'll go get ready.

Eva: Make sure you check on Minoru J- Nico. After what's happening with her parents, she may need support.

James: Yeah, I know.

James walks up to the group talking to each other. Gert and Molly walked up at the same time.

Gert: Isn't this adorbs? You kids planning a big double date? What do the kids do for fun these days? Is it a... escape room? Karaoke? A knitting circle?

James: I would fifth wheel a double date for two of those options.

Nico: No-one is planning a date.

Chase: Escape room does sound sick, though.

Karolina: If it means escaping from here.

Gert: Whoa, zinger. Karolina, you should sign up for the school improv troupe.

James: We have one of those?

Alex: Guys, we're supposed to be taking on our parents, not each other.

Chase: Well, what's happening with the video data?

Alex: I'm still working on it. It's harder to unlock than I thought, and now my parents are on my ass.

Gert: Yeah, mine too.

Karolina: Do you think they know?

James: That would have required one of us to slip up and-

Molly drops the model she was holding.

Nico: Don't worry we can fix it.

Molly: Who cares? Who cares about a double helix!

Gert: Molly, is everything okay?

Molly: I screwed up, you guys.

James: What are you talking about?

Molly: I've got something to tell you.

Molly explained how Catherine was suspicious of her. And that she slipped up at the gala.

Gert: Are you kidding?

Molly: I know, I panicked. Your mom is very intimidating.

Alex: Well, she has the conviction rate to prove it. Now you're telling me she's been suspicious of you from the very beginning.
