S2 EP3 - Double Zeros

James was sleeping in his bed peacefully until he got hit by something.

James: Ow.

He sits up to see Nico at the door. The object thrown at him was a shoe.

Nico: Training. Now. Move.

James: Fine. You could've just woken me up normally, you know?

Nico: I know.

She leaves the room, letting him get ready. He gets day clothes on and goes into the main part of the Hostel.

James: Anyone else woken by a projectile this morning. No? Just me?

Around the room were makeshift scarecrows to be used as targets.

Gert: Does anybody want to explain Molly. We haven't even done anything yet.

Chase: Maybe she, like the rest of us, didn't get enough sleep.

Nico: Could just be puberty. You said it yourself adolescents need more sleep. Anyways, she can skip this one. She's further along than the rest of us.

Karolina: Speak for yourself. I've been practicing.

She begins to fly up the stairs.

Nico: Um... how much practice?

Karolina: Enough that you're suddenly nervous you're not the best anymore.

Chase: Wait, I thought I was the best-

James: Okay, but why though?

Nico: You weren't even close to the best. Oh, you wanna make this a competition?

Chase: I think I already did.

Chase knocks one of the targets over with the Fistigons.

Chase: Yeah, that's right! That is how you do it.

The target sets on fire.

Chase: Shit.

Karolina: I think I saw a fire extinguisher.

Nico: I got it. Extinguish.

The flame dissipates.

Chase: Okay. You're definitely better.

Gert: Guess that makes it our turn.

Gert shouts in pain.

James: That wasn't good. Even I felt it.

Chase: Hey, you okay?

Gert: Yeah, yeah. Just a little-- Ow! No, no! I'm not.

Karolina: "What happened?"

Gert: It's, um... it's called 'brain lightning'. It jus- It happens when I go off my Sertraline too quickly.

Chase: English, Gert. This is new to some of us.

Gert: It's kind of like getting a hot poker shoved in your brain, coupled with dizziness and blindness and ringing in the ears. I could go on.

James: It wasn't much fun to receive the psychic signal either.

Old Lace starts roaring.
