Scout McCoy has lived at Bethany Beach, Delaware her whole life. Her entire world has been built in this town and by these waters. It isn't much, being a town of just over 1,000 people, but it was her home. She had her family, her best friends, Calum Hood, Ashton Irwin, and Michael Clifford, and her surf board. That's all she needed. 

Luke Hemmings has just moved to Bethany Beach, Delaware at the beginning of this summer. His entire world had been packed up and moved to these waters. Though he left a lot behind, this was his new home, and he was optimistic about it. He had his family, his new permanent beach house, and now has laid his eyes on Scout, who he believed to be the most interesting girl he's ever met. Could that be all he needed?

The summer after senior year has just begun and the chance that Luke and Scout would be thrown together as both their lives are in the midst of change was a slim one, but a very happy accident.
