"And... we meet again!", he said smiling gleefully.
"Nachiket, are you trying to stalk me?"
"Noo!!"
"Then?"
"I'm on a trip too, why do you think I would be on a train station otherwise."
"The vacation you mentioned to Katy?", I remembered their conversation from yesterday.
"That's the one."
"Wow."
"So, this is my seat.", he sat on the seat opposite of mine.
"What coincidences!"
"Worse than bollywood movies?", he chuckled to himself.
"Yes.", I couldn't agree more.
The last boarding call announcement broke our conversation. Five minutes later, the train started moving and we sat looking out watching the city pass by.
"So", he started, "We can spend the next 4 hours being awkward with each other or talk like old friends."
"I prefer the latter."
"I guess, you're on a solo trip."
There was no point hiding it so I gave in, "Yes and you?"
"Me too."
"Wow, what were the chances."
"Let's start with introductions again, shall we?"
"Sure."
"Hi, my name is Nachiket Wagh.", he held out his hand
"Nice to meet you Nachiket, I'm Rhea Deshmukh."
"The pleasure is all mine. I'm a fintech engineer working at GS. I was born in Mumbai but we shifted to London when I was a kid."
"Woah, GS!"
"Yeah, its nice working there."
"It sure is and you're from Mumbai?"
"Yes."
"I'm from Nashik."
"That's close."
"Yeah and I work at CG as a software engineer."
"CG is a good company."
"Its okay."
"How did you get a leave?"
"I don't want to brag but I'm a diligent employee so they sanctioned my leave. I had not used a single leave till now."
"That's remarkable. I took a leave and said I'll work remotely if needed."
"If its a leave, why would you work remotely?"
"I can't take complete off."
"Then this is not a vacation, its just a background change."
He pondered over the sentence and continued, "You're right."
"If you're on vacation, you should unwind and not think about work in the mean time."
"I'll try not to. So, which cities are on your list?"
"Brussels, Amsterdam, Berlin, Mykonos, Milan, Engelberg and Paris. Which are on your list?"
"Woah, that's a lot. My list is: Amsterdam, Salzburg, Budapest, Athens, Venice, Ibiza, Zurich and Paris."
"We only have the starting and ending in common.", I smiled to myself.
