Jieun groaned as she slowly came to her senses and opened her eyes. [author's note: 7th sense is a bop ;)]
Expecting to see some dingy-old room, she instead found herself staring at her blood-stained white jeans. "Jesus what-"
Out of instinct she tried to sit up and move her hands, only to feel them tied behind her back. That's when her brain registered how she was sitting on a rusty-metal chair, her legs and hands were tied and there was a gag on her mouth to prevent her from uttering any word. Her mind immediately recalled the moments before she was kidnapped. She came to a conclusion that she must have hurt herself either then or due to the sharp edges of the chair.
"Eun-ah!!" "Eun, wake up!! Can you hear us!?"
Those voices. Jieun knew them. She had been longing to see them again.
She lifted her head up. But looking at the horrifying sight in front of her, she immediately closed her eyes and wished for everything to be a dream.
There in front of her, were two battered bodies hanging from the roof with blood dripping down from various places.
Jisoo and Bomin.
Jieun took a deep breath and opened her eyes. This time, she looked straight into their eyes with her own moistening. Despite their injuries, they attempted to give her a reassuring look to tell her that everything will be alright but immediately winced due to the stinging wounds when someone from behind threw water on them.
Jieun cried out and thrashed about in her chair to get herself free and run to their aid. The sound of someone's shoes coming closer resonated through the room, causing her to stop moving and look around warily. Jieun's breath quickened and she went stiff as the echoing footsteps came to a halt behind her.
In the silence that followed, an eerily cheerful voice rang out. "Someone's awake."
Judging from the voice, Jieun assumed the man must be somewhere around her father's age. Her gag was suddenly removed.
"I've been waiting."
She tried to turn around to look at the man but he immediately gripped her hair tightly and yanked her back with a force, causing the chair to fall back, dragging down Jieun with it. Her head hit the bricked floor harshly and her back collided with the back of the chair painfully.
Jieun's head and shoulder blades ached badly and she could even feel the small puddle of blood forming near the back of her head. She gasped in pain and momentary dizziness while the man only let out small chuckles. "Your friends were way more entertaining."
Jisoo and Bomin called out her name as they swayed to and fro, kicking the air with their legs, to get free from the ropes that bound them.
"Oh for god's sake Taro, make them quiet down!"
"M-me?"
"Don't make me repeat myself."
Jisoo and Bomin were whipped repeatedly till the two surrendered to silence while Jieun kept screaming to stop it as she struggled to change the position from when she had fallen.
She clenched her teeth and fists in anger and pain. She forced herself to focus her sight on the man, who stood grinning at her as he twirled a knife in his left hand. He was dressed in black from head to toe, like a grim reaper.
Jieun glared at him, looking him dead in the eyes. "Coward."
The man's right eye twitched and he slightly tilted his head to his right as the grin on his face vanished and was replaced by pure anger. He knelt down beside her and traced the edge of his knife slowly with his fingers. "Say. That. Again."
