"We are heading towards the east wing. Yuta do you see any activity?"
"Still nothing."
"It's strange. No one seems to be about. Are we sure this is the right building?"
"Kun, do you not trust your team or do you not trust Teach?"
"Taeyong you know I didn't mean it that way."
"Ignore him hyung. He's been a little grumpy ever since miss park-"
"We're almost there. Stop chit-chatting and focus." Taeyong's stern voice cut in. "Foreign swaggers report your status."
"Same as before. Nothin- Wait!" Ten abruptly whisper-shouted. He stopped moving and looked around warily. "Did you guys hear that?"
"Hear what?" "What is it Ten?"
Ten motioned for Johnny and Jaehyun to quiet down. Carefully looking around, he whispered into his in-ear. "Yuta, do you still see us?"
"Obviously."
"Check our surroundings. 9'o clock. I think I saw something move in that direction."
"Ten, Johnny, Jaehyun what is happening over there? Did you see someone?" Taeyong asked but his questions only went unanswered.
"I don't see anythi- Johnny watch out!" Yuta's shout was followed by Johnny's painful groans and then static sounds of the line getting disconnected followed soon after.
All the monitor screens turned black and then 'signal lost' started to show up on all the screens. Even their headsets could not receive any sound coming from the other side.
"What happened?" Kun asked. Yuta took off his headset and cursed under his breath. "We lost contact with them. The signal got cut. Aish!! That lever Johnny tripped over, must have set off something which disrupted the signals."
Kun crossed his arms and leaned back in his chair. His blank face looked calm but internally he was extremely worried. "Now what do we do? We have no way of contacting them.... Yuta can't you try to reconnect the lines or something?"
Yuta ran a hand through his hair. "I can only try."
Half an hour passed and still nothing. Feeling frustrated, Yuta grabbed the nearest object - an alarm clock - and hurled it at the floor, breaking it into pieces. "Damn it!! No matter what I try, the connection just won't go through!! There must be some sort of magnetic force field around there..."
Kun sighed and put a hand on his shoulder reassuringly. "Calm down Yuta. Getting angry won't help us nor would breaking things re-establish the connection." Kun said, eyeing the broken clock as he handed Yuta a can of coca-cola. "For now, I'll go check up on Jieun while you cool down that temper of yours. Then let's see what we can do about this."
Without waiting for an answer, Kun headed towards the medical room leaving Yuta grumbling and pouting about how they had no idea of what's happening with their team and yet Kun is more concerned about some girl.
Just as Yuta finished his drink, Kun came running in. He gripped his chair and pushed it aside in a hurry, rummaging through his desk drawer. "Yuta get ready. We have to leave right now. Jieun's gone."
Yuta sat up in his chair startled. "Eh? Gone? What do you mean gone?"
"Exactly what you understood. She's not here."
"Stop joking Kun."
Kun turned around with stern eyes. "What makes you think I'm joking Nakamoto Yuta?"
