How could she avoid Jeffrey? It was basically impossible, they had three classes together. Cynthia needed to make up a few assignments she missed during her stay in the hospital. Science was definitely out of the question. She was barely passing that class. Her only hope was that Jeffrey and his crew would ditch the rest of the school day, that way, they wouldn't bump heads. Cynthia felt like the walls were closing in on her from every direction.  Whoever came up with the phrase "when it rains it pours" knew exactly what they were talking about. Cynthia dreaded the fact that her locker was down the hall from where Jeffrey and his crew frequently roamed with reckless abandonment. They terrorized half the school, teachers included. The more she thought about it, the more it frightened her. She needed her textbook and some notes she had jotted down the night before. Why didn't I just carry the damn book with me she thought out loud as she gently smacks herself on the forehead. Maybe if she blended in with some students walking by she could go unnoticed. Time was of the essence and the sixth period was quickly approaching. Nervously looking around she decides to make a dash for it and starts running towards her locker when she collides with Jennifer, dropping her books in the process. "I'm so sorry I'm just a nervous wreck Jennifer." " It's ok Cynthia I completely understand and between me and you, they're planning to attack you again. Cynthia, please don't go to your science class. And please don't let anyone know it was me who told you."

Startled by what she just heard that she could barely put words together. She whispers "thanks Melissa" while tears begin to fall down her face. "Please don't cry Cynthia." As Jennifer extends her arms to console her, something dawns on her "I got it, my father is a detective in the homicide unit, I can have him come up to the school with back up, I'll tell him to escort you home Cynthia. I heard the grand jury found June guilty of negligent homicide not murder. So the Latin Kings are pissed and out for blood, Cynthia. Maybe we can go to the principal's office to inform him of what's going on and have  him  notify my father who's at the precinct. Let's get out of here I see Muneca walking this way and you know whenever she's around so are they". Cynthia snaps out of the daze she was in and tells Melissa "I have to contact my mother  immediately. They're not gonna rest till they have my head on a platter." Shivering while sobbing uncontrollably, "what did I ever do to them? I don't bother no one, I know I'm not popular but I'm so sick of being treated like this, I just want to die. Why didn't they just kill me last time?" But she wasn't ready to die. "Lord Jesus please help me. I don't want to die." She looked up and finally saw a friendly face, it was Alberto." Listen every Latin King member boy and girl are on their way over here, they all are gunning for you and me. I spoke with my cousin and he's on his way to pick me up. You're coming with me. There's no way I'm leaving you here alone so they can feast on you. What's she doing here?" Pointing in Melissa's direction, "do you trust her?" "Relax Alberto, Melissa just gave  me the heads up on what's about to take place." "Should we bring her along with us? It's your call Cynthia."

The next morning at school the word was spread like wildfire . Cynthia received nothing but cold stares followed by whispering. Her guess was that Melissa had let everyone know that Cynthia was a dead woman walking. Why else would they be staring and whispering? She had to go with her gut, her intuition told her to leave school immediately. Not knowing when or where the attack would take place left her shaken and unsettled. Most of the students never cared or considered how Cynthia felt, they only cared about making sure they were there to record with their smartphones shouting out all types of obscenities approving of the violence while screaming "Worldstar Cynthia." "Cynthia," the janitor spoke while trying to snap her out the daze she was in, "listen up do not go to your science class or the  lunchroom. In fact I think it's best if you just leave now  for your safety. I'll call your mother and will notify security." "Cynthia do you still have that thing?" She  looked at him  with a blank expression on her  face, before remembering about the knife. "I have it in my closet but are you sure you want me to give it to you?" "There's no turning back Cynthia if you use it." said the janitor as he nodded his head. Wiping the tears rolling down her cheek she could only muster the words "what choice do I have? What else can I do"? Between sobs  Cynthia tries to compose herself." I'm mentally and physically drained. I don't know what else to do. Tired of them  smiling in my face while back stabbing me from every direction. How can I stop that or even attempt to? Trevor I can't hide or crawl under a rock? If they don't do it today,  tomorrow or the week after, it's still gonna happen. With June in jail and Terror dead, Flaco and  the Latin  Kings are  out for blood, my  blood."
