"Hagrid!" I cried out in delight to see my friend, towering over all the students. I weaved my way through the mass of bodies to him, Celine following close behind.

"Ahhh! Ruby! I was wonderin' where yer were." Hagrid smiled down at me, his beetle black eyes sparkling. "And this is..." He guestured to Celine, who was gaping up at Hagrid in wonder.

"This is Celine." I nudged her and she stopped staring and grinned at Hagrid. "She's from New Zealand." I added.

"New Zealand, eh?" He said, looking at Celine. "Come a fair bit from home then." Celine nodded.

"Yes, I have a couple of aquaintences down there me'self... oh, 'ello Harry!" Hagrid said and waved an enormous hand at Harry, who was approaching Hagrid, accompanied by the Ginger dude. Again, the weird feeling came over me.

"Ok, firs' years, follow me! We'll be at 'Ogwarts in no time." We followed Hagrid to the edge of a humongous lake, with a fleet of little sailing boats lined up along the shingle shore. I crunched over to a boat and hopped in, Celine with me. 2 other girls hopped in too. One was a large girl who looked like she could take down 5 Hagrids at once, and another was a skinny girl with black hair and looked like she had just swallowed a lemon.

"Uhh, hello there." I said nervously. "What are your names?"

The big one glared at me as if I had just punched her in the face. But she replied. "Milicent Bulstrode." Her voice was deep, and had an unpleasant tinge to it.

"I'm Pansy Parkinson." She said with a flick of her hair. "And you are..."

"Celine Henare, and this is Ruby Livingston." Celine said.

Pansy smirked. "Pleasure. What house do you expect to be in?" She asked.

"House?"  Celine and I said at the same time.

"Ugh, you must be mudbloods." Celine was just about to cut in when Pansy continued, "There are houses at Hogwarts. Gryffindor, Ravenclaw, Hufflepuff, and Slytherin. I expect I will be in Slytherin, in my opinion, the best house. Judging by you two, I guess you will end up in Hufflepuff."  She said it in such a stuck up way, it made me dislike her immediately.

Suddenly, there were sharp intaes of breath and gasps from the people around me, and I turned around to see Hogwarts Castle, silhouetted against the starry sky and the full moon. The lights from the windows twinkled and I felt a great feeling of homeliness whoosh over me. This was going to be my next home for the coming seven years. I looked over at Celine and a look of wondrous pleasure was etched across her face.

"Wonderful, isn't it? I've only seen it in pictures. It looks much better in real life." She whispered in my ear. I nodded in agreement.

Soon we were getting out of the boats and walking up a flight of stone steps and Hagrid knocked on the door with his huge fist. The door opened and a rather strict looking woman with a pointed hat opened the door and peered down at us.

"Firs' years, Professor McGonagall." Hagrid said.

"Yes, thank you Hagrid. I will take them from here." She replied in a prim way. She opened the door wider and let us all come in. I saw Hagrid pat Harry on the back before he turned around and clomped back down the stone steps.
