Matteo's Eyes

Chapter 24

Leo laughs at us, "Now that would make Maxim mad wouldn't it?"

I slice the knife through his wrist. His hand lands on the floor. Leo screams out in pain and falls the ground. He passes out after only seconds.

Everyone is staring now, "I know you're here Maxim. Just show yourself and we can deal with this now." I shout out.

Mom, Dad, and Matteo rush to my side. Shay has his gun out and I still hold the bloody knife.

I hear someone slow clap and watch as Maxim steps out of the crowd.

"Woah you dealt with that...well." I glare at him.

"What do you want?"

"I want your mafia and the only way to have that is to kill you. Or you give it up."

"Well we both know that's not going to happen." I glare at him.

"Well then I'll just have to kill you." Maxim moves to come towards me.

A gunshot rings out but no one shot from my side. Maxim falls down on the ground. A bullet wound in his back.

"Come on. That wasn't that hard."

"Uncle Micheal!" I smile.

"Micheal? I didn't know you were coming." Mom says.

"Well, I'm here and I just saved your lives."

We all are just acting like that didn't just happen. Everyone in the ballroom goes on with there business.

After the Mafia Market we head home. Everyone was exhausted  mentally and physically.

"Matteo, Ivy. I have some news for you guys." Dad sat us down on the couch and had Shay and Mom stay to hear. "Matteo, you are ready to be the leader and I will give that spot to you. We will announce it so everyone soon." Dad pauses and looks at me, "Ivy, it's up to you. I think you are ready and Mom also agrees. You are only 16 but when you want to take over you can take over."

I look at my Mom and Dad, "Really?" they nod their head yes at me, "I am ready."

We celebrate Matteo and I being the new mafia leaders with our families. Everyone is excited for us.

Matteo stands up and hits his fork against his champagne glass lightly to get everyone attention.

"I would like to announce that Violet, the girl I have been seeing, my girlfriend, will be my second in command."

We all smile and cheer and try not to show our surprise that Matteo settled down.

I stand up next, "No surprise here, Shay, my boyfriend, will be my second on command."

Angelina stands up next. What is she going to say?

"Um, I have an announcement." She pauses looking nervously around everyone, "I-I have a girlfriend."

Everyone looks around surprised not knowing what to say so I speak up, "What's her name? When can we meet her?"

"Her name is Rachel."

I stand up and hug Angelina, "Congratulations."
