' Selene's POV
Dead animal bodies laid about, heads and limbs removed. Rian didn't give any a second glance. They had attacked us- and in turn me, his mate.
"You came back," Chris marveled, staring at me. "I figured you would have never come back." Vibrations pulsed images into my head.
My grandmother had come to stand beside me. Raven sighed.
"Chris, my grandson... you are an idiot!" she suddenly snarled. "How dare you turn your back on your family! And mainly your own twin, to top it off!" I felt Chris point his gaze back at me.
I fluffed up and padded towards him. My brother didn't even back away, he just started to lower his body.
"Give me my right back," I growled. "I was born to be Alpha. I am the Alpha!" I slowly felt all my muscles relax as that unbelievably powerful Alpha feelings surged through my whole body. Taking a deep breath, I gazed down at my cowering brother. "When you finally realize what you did wrong, you can return to me."
The moment I spun around both of the packs began to follow me. Once at the nuteral zone I turned and faced my grandmother. The wind ruffled her fur, showing me her large wolf form.
"Thank you for everything," I murmured, dipping my head. The air vibrated with her wolfy grin.
"No, my dear, thank you for trusting me enough to turn to me. I have not seen action for years now. I was starting to miss it." I chuckled.
Her and my grandpa rubbed sides with me before heading for their territory. Stefan and Sophia dipped their heads in good bye.
Rian's POV
As we padded through her pack- our pack, no one regaurded me differently. It had been almost a week since that battle and things had calmed down, though I knew better. All those bodies of my fellow shifters was not even half of my people. Somewhere out there was at least two packs worth.
My newest worry? Who was leading them? If it was Joker... there would be a problem. He was a gorilla shifted. Pure anger ran in his blood, woven into each one of his cells.
What's on your mind? Selene's voice rang through my head. You seem worried deeply. I do not know why, I thought we stopped the others? Her voice sounded unsure.
Well, I paused and pushed out a deep breath. We stopped in the park area and relaxed on the grass. Kids voices and laughs rang out. We did but did not.
What are you talking about? Those hazed eyes pointed at me, worry now present on her face. I reached up and cupped her face in my hand.
"Don't fret," I whispered softly. "We can take on anything that comes out way." The smile that barely curved her lips did not meet her eyes. In a careful and quick movement, I grabbed her and set her in the open spaces in my legs from sitting criss cross.
