=======================================
Selene's POV
I sat up real quick and grimaced. My body was sore.
"Careful," a voice said. I frowned and faced the voice.
"Rian?" As I said his name, everything that had happened hit me. I reached down and rubbed my ankle.
It was sore and colored lightly red. The shapeshifter that had attacked me broke it.
"You're healing very nicely," he murmured. "Do you know why Jonah attacked you?"
"It had something to do with you," I answered. I gazed around, letting the noises show me everything.
We sat in the cave that I had chosen as my home. Both of us sat around a small fire naked- and I didn't care. Nudity was one of my least worries...
"Why did you tell him you're not Alpha? What happened?" His tone was thick with worry and concern.
"My brother took it from me." The second those words left my lips, the true pain of loosing my pack hit.
And for the first time in several long years, my eye water up and the tear fell over.
"Are you crying?" I snarled at him, then paused to sigh.
"Yes, I'm crying, okay?" I forced myself to face where the fire was crackling. "Because I lost everything I knew.
"I lost my brother, my parents, my pack, all because of-"
"Me?" he supplied. I shook my head.
"All because of myself," I answered. "I didn't know how to feel about the one person I should have attempted to kill, not give myself away to."
Rian stared at me. I kept my face towards the fire.
"I am sorry," he said after a few minutes if silence. "I never thought this could happen. I am the first shapeshifter that was born after werewolves killed us off.
"I used to hate your people," Rian admitted. "But after letting Jonah set everything up and coming here, I found you. Everything changed the moment I saw you.
"A simple female who gave away none of her weakness. I had no clue you were blind until I herd you explain it to that Rogue."
I nodded. Most who every meet me have no clue until they gazed into my eyes or heard my story.
"Rian, your people are about to attack mine and kill many innocents. Our worlds are of that if our packs and family.
"Any of our big problems have been solved for a long time now- since before I was even born."
I listened as he took a deep breath.
"So I take it your people won't help you?" he asked. I shook my head.
"I have been turned out to Omega." As the thought hit me, I wanted to smack myself. "Rian, come with me."

Rian's POV
I felt the urge to run as we padded through the larger pack's land. But as we past wolves, and they saw Selene, they nodded and left us alone.
She may have been Omega in her pack, but this one still had all their respect for her.
As we walked through the large open park, two wolves began to approach us; and for the thousandth time, I was thankful that I was in wolf form.
"Raven, Donavan, I need your help!" Selene called out. The moment her voice reached them, they dashed over.
Before they could demand it of her, Selene told them everything. She left nothing out. I felt their stares on me- but unlike other stares, these were not judging me.
"So your pack turned you out instead if trying to see if there was a way to help you?" Donavan demanded.
Selene nodded.
"Being conflicted, my brother was able to take Alpha from me- mainly because other then gender, we are the same," she said.
"Are you still conflicted?" Donavan asked softly. Selene tilted her head to me slightly, sighed and nodded.
"A little bit, yes." Raven, being silent all this time, suddenly pushed forward, rubbing her cheek with Selene.
Were these two her family? Last I knew, wolves only did that to family...
"Come back to our home, we have an open room. Shower, rest, so whatever," Raven said. "I can smell old blood on you."
Keeping their shoulders touching, Raven turned and lead Selene away.
"Rian, right?" Donavan asked as we began to follow. I nodded. "So you are a shapeshifter. Care you show me?"
As we walked, my body grew until I was in my tiger form. My nerves calmed instantly.
Donavan nodded.
"Word of advise, from now on, don't hide yourself," he said. "If this is your true from, then stick with it."
"Can I ask you something?"
"Mm-hm."
"Is Selene apart of your family?" I asked. I couldn't take my eyes off her...
"Yes," he answered. "Her father is my son." Oh, that explained it.
"Why are you going to help us?" I blurted. He chuckled.
"It's the werewolf way."

Selene's POV
I could feel him pacing out in the hallway. I stood there in my towel, indecisive on what to do.
I knew I had some feelings for him- obviously. I let him in and gave him everything.
Sitting on the bed, I pushed a hefty breath out. Why couldn't I have a inner wolf to speak to, to help me through this?
A knock on the door startled me.
"Selene? May I come in?"
"Yeah." The air moved as he pushed open the door. "What do you need?"
"So, what is going on between us now? Us against your pack? Or...?"
He left it open, waiting for me to answer. I sighed deeply. I didn't really have that thought out.
"Rian, I do not know," I answered, not turning my face to him. "This between us are unknown right now. I'm not even sure of what to think about what we did.
"Giving all myself like that... Caused me to second guess who I was. I already don't have an inner wolf, now I'm falling for a shapeshifter-"
I snapped my jaw together the moment I said that. Falling for him? Not what I should have said...
The air in front if me shifted, giving me the picture of him standing in front of me. He suddenly dropped to his knees and hung his head.
"Selene, I'd say I would take it back if I could- but I would be lying. After we shared that time together, all I can think about is you.
"Werewolves took my kind from this world- they made us disappear- but u could care less that you are one. To me, your just Selene, the one women I would give anything for."
The second he stopped talking, I felt speechless. What could I say back to that? I mean-
My whole body froze for an instant when his lips connected with mine. The moment my body unfroze- I reacted.
I scooted closer, making the kiss deeper. His hands gripped my hips tightly.
And just like that- through that passionate kiss- I knew. I was falling for him. And I would make everything work out.... Some how...
