Chris' POV

I could feel something was different as I paced waiting for my sister to return. Something within me could sense it.

"Chris, you alright, man?" Jason asked. I shrugged. He plopped on the couch.

"Selene should have been back by now," I muttered, shaking my head. "Usually when she takes forever something happened."

"And if I told she's about to walk through the door?" I frowned and faced Jason.

The house door opened and in walked Selene. Her face had a calm mask on.

"What happened?" I asked, coming closer to her. Her head jerked up and she slightly flinched. That scared me.

Selene hadn't flinched since the accident years ago.

"N-nothing," she stuttered out. I glanced over my shoulder at Jason. He stood, stretched, and left.

"Now explain," I ordered. It felt almost wrong to order her around...

"I... Brother, what can I do? Something... Happened... And now I'm not sure where I stand." Selene shook her head. "But I know I'll forever protect this pack."

I gripped her shoulders.

"Selene, make more sense," I said. She sighed deeply.

"Chris, I think I'm gaining feelings for that shapeshifter... For Rian..." Fear filled me and my stomach dropped.

Oh no.

Rian's POV

As I padded through the forest, I didn't change forms. I did not care if anyone saw a random tiger- my mood was too light.

I had never experience anything better, anything more pure than Selene. She was true innocents embalmed.

Selene didn't know how to feel, though. My kind wanted her kind dead, and she had to protect them- except she had found herself bedded by the enemy.

Even with her being a werewolf, I knew I defiantly had feelings for her. And it was easy to tell she had feelings for me- but she couldn't understand them.

I herd clicking just before a bird dropped in front of me. After it landed it shifted into a spotted leopard.

"Rian, where have you been?" Jonah demanded. He was the one who organized the attacking of werewolves.

"What do you mean?"

"We had a meeting today about where we are in being ready to attack the small pack," Jonah answered in an angry tone.

"Oh. I was busy- plus we aren't ready. We can't be." He frowned and cocked his head at me.

"And why the hell not?"

"Because I'm not ready for them to be taken." Anger filled his eyes.

"You have taken a liking to a female, haven't you?" When I said nothing, he snarled. "You dumb-ass fool! How are we supposed to be lead to kill them if the original can't harm them?!"

My fur rose, my lips came up in a snarl, and I tensed.

"Do not speak to me like that!" He may have been the technical leader- I was stronger, older, and more experienced with shifting. I could kill him and he knew it.
