I watched her calmly as she spoke all about the bodyguard thing. I had never wanted a bodyguard. Can you imagine how dangerous it would be if you were a bodyguard for the son of a president. I was also the CEO of the VIP Builders.
''Ms. Wilson, I think you are wrong. I didn't book for a bodyguard.'' She went through her mobile and she nodded seriously.
''Mr. Ethan O'Brian - CEO of VIP BUILDERS - Son of Mr. Keller O'Brian – Rival of Mell group of companies.'' She looked up at me after reading at a high speed.
''That would be me and I say, I don't need one'' I said in a strict tone and she didn't even flinch.
''It was your father who requested protection for you, Mr. Brian. I have no say in it and if you insist, you may talk to him. I am just following my duties.''
I let out a frustrated groan and rang my stubborn dad. Jade sat watching me with an amused look on her face.
''Dad, did you demand for a bodyguard?'' I got straight to the point because I knew he would never answer my questions directly.
''Hello son''
''Dad, please..''
''Yeah yeah, I did. I'm having a lot more rivals than before, so I just asked for extra protection at the work place and our home. Your mom is annoyed about that too. But we've got to get used to it.''
''Dad, we already talked this out. I told you I don't need one, I can protect myself.''
''Ethan, stop whining and accept it. End of conversation.''
I looked at her and spoke softly as if trying to convince her, ''Jade, do you know what it means to be my bodyguard?''
She looked at me strangely at the tune I used and I was hoping she would recognise it. ''I know, Mr.Brian. That's my job and I am not afraid of it.''
It was then I knew she was a totally different person. The old Jade I knew was never this confident. She is smarter and prettier.
And I was afraid I would fall for her deeper than ever.

''Yeah, had no choice with the look that she was giving me.''
''So, it's like she would look out for enemies and then call for other men to beat them up?''
''Yeah, maybe.''
''So, will she be staying at your place?''
