ETHAN POV

''For what?'' She didn't even reply and tossed a chair above my head, with such force that I felt the chill of air as it passed me.

Ace and I were too shocked to react but he recovered first and slumped back onto the chair. A groan pulled me back to Earth. It had hit one of the men on his chest and he laid back on the floor, twitching. The situation immediately angered the others and they came straight at her. She pushed me back, causing me to sit and gave a slight kick to the chair, the wheels creaking at the sudden movement. She punched one of the goons and trapped another one with their hands tangled together. She rolled above the table, grabbed a drink and smashed the bottle on his head, glass pieces flying in all directions. This time, she pulled Ace along with the chair, saving him from the harsh blow of the knife that was directed towards him.

He could've died!

It was all quick for me to process but as I looked around, the place was a mess – broken chairs, shattered glasses and men scrawled over.

''All done, Michael.''

''The car's ready, Jay''

''Copied - I'm sorry for the loss. I'll send a check, Thank you!'' She called out to the bar tender.

''Let's go!'' All we did was follow her with no questions, not waiting for the reply.

That man, Michael, she called, was there as promised. I got into the car in a daze but Ace hadn't.

He watched Jade speak to Michael in a series of whispers and turned around to face a pale Ace.

She raised her eyebrows at him, ''What's wrong?''

''Did you just bang them up?'' I sighed and looked away. This man, was surely a big child.

''Do you want to go back and enquire them? Do as you wish but this time you won't be lucky.'' She got into the car with him trailing behind.

The way she talked, her graceful moves and the way she thinks were all surprisingly different. She was dominant and her strength and guts were nothing like before.

She was a different person. A totally different one.

With no past memories.

New found job.

New abilities.

I guess, this is going to be harder than I thought.

JADE POV

I drove straight to Ethan's house. Those two seemed pretty shaken. I thought they would be used to all this by now. I was mostly worried about Ace. He was quite pale as if he was going to throw up any minute. I didn't ask whether it was his first time to witness such incidents.
