As I was closing the door after Teruteru, I noticed Nagito leaning up against the wall on the opposite side of the hall. He had his arms crossed and was staring Teruteru down as he went down the hall."Nagito? What are you doing here?"
"Well, I'm not sure if you've forgotten, but trash like me does live next door," I grumbled at his self-degrading comment, but didn't interrupt him as he kept talking, "but I actually was going to come talk to you before I saw Teruteru go into your room," Nagito said, finally looking up at me after Teruteru had disappeared down the hall, taking his discomforting aura with him, "he didn't try anything did he?"
"No, he didn't. Thanks to Gideon, I'm stronger than I look," I said proudly, flexing my arm muscle confidently like Sonia does, "so what did you want to talk to me about?"
"I just wanted to check on you and see if you needed help with anything since you just came from the infirmary."
"Oh, no, I'm alright. Thank you, Nagito."
"No problem. When I said I care about you, I meant it," there was a pause in our conversation as he looked at me with sincerity while I was just trying not to blush too hard at such a nonchalant comment.
"Umm... hey, Nagi, you wanna know something?"
"What do you mean?"
"About what led up to what happened at the pool party."
"Do tell."
"I was trying to get you in the water."
"Well, you were successful," he said sarcastically.
"That's not what I meant. I thought maybe if I got on Soda's shoulders, you'd get jealous and get in."
"(Y/N)..." Nagito suddenly adopted a serious tone and facial expression.
"Y-yes?" I tentatively answered, worried I'd said something to offend him.
"Were you trying to seduce me?" he continued with a slight smirk tugging at his lips.
"w... what...?" I couldn't hold back my shock. I hadn't thought of it that way, and I didn't mean it that way. At least, I don't think so...?
"I'm just messing with you," he said, smiling cheekily.
"Ugh, you're evil."
"And you almost got yourself drowned for me."
"I- ugh, I'm going back into my room now."
"Who was the one who dove in the water to make sure you didn't drown?"
"How are you able to be so cocky and have such low self-esteem at the same time?" I said before walking back into my room.
"Aww, so harsh, (Y/N)," he said, pouting dramatically, but that ever-playful glint in his eyes gave away his jokes.
"Cry me a river."
"I would, but you'd probably make me save you from drowning in that, too."
"Why do I even try?" I said, sighing and rolling my eyes before shutting my door as Nagito laughed to himself. Once I closed my door, I walked over to my closet and grabbed my favorite movie, popping it into my DVD player and sitting down to watch.
While squinting to watch the movie on my tiny portable DVD player, I realized that they might have more than just spare clothes and food in the warehouse. Considering they had those crazy fireworks from last night in the warehouse, it could be worth checking.
By the time I left my room, Nagito had disappeared from the hallway, so I decided to go to ask for some company from someone who likely had already checked the warehouse for electronics.
