I woke up to a thunking on my window. To my surprise Vinnie stood there, obviously still very drunk maybe even more drunk than when I last saw him. I glanced at my phone, the bright 3:07 am made my eyes hurt. I quietly opened my window.
"What?"
Vinnie's eyes glistened in the moon light.
"Can you come out to talk?"
His words slurred and dragged out.
"No you're drunk go home."
"Aurora, don't make me come up there."
"No, go home, we'll talk later."
Before I could protest, Vinnie was climbing the accent on the side of my house. I stumbled back, still a little tipsy myself.
"I didn't mean it."
"That's fine get out now."
"No Aurora, I didn't mean it. You just like, you know how I am after Riley did what she did."
I stared at him with no expression on my face.
"You literally called me a whore.. for doing nothing. When you were sucking faces with a girl at the party. You know what Vin, I don't want anything to do with you. You have no regards for me or my feelings."
"You don't mean that."
I turned away from him giving the hint for him to get out. Without a word he left. I watched him trudge along our lawns then somberly walk into his house.
**
Waking up the following morning with sun shining in my eyes was refreshing.
I can't imagine how I'm going to feel when I see him at school tomorrow, the thought makes my heart sink. The rest of my day was dedicated to myself, I did anything to keep this dumb guy out of my head.

I walked downstairs to my mom cleaning like a mad man.
"Hey honey, I invited the Romano's over for
dinner."
I seriously wanted to bang my head on a wall over and over again until I pummeled myself to death.
"Ok great. I'll get dressed."
5 pm rolled around and on que the door bell rang. My mom called me down, I was greeted with a smiley full family. It was only me and my mother, my father had disappeared when I was 8.
"Alright, you guys can go out on to the patio, Rory and I will grab snacks and the cooler." My mom grinned as she opened the door.
I greeted them and smiled. Vinnie looked like hell. He looked right past me.
We sat outside for hours and not one peep from Vinnie to me. Everyone could tell something was up.
"Hey why don't you two go clean up the kitchen for me." My mom chirped.
With a simple nod Vinnie got up and I did the same, as soon as we got in the kitchen I had to break the tension.
