Chapter 6

"Mila, we just get another variety show for you. You will be the guest there and the variety show will take around two days for the productions process." My manager said to me, I looked at him, "But I've got shooting my new drama next week?" I asked him

He smiled at me, " Let's just say, a short vacation for you before you start your drama."

I close my eyes. Way to go, Mr. Manager.

"The show will be about food and cooking. You will join 5 regular member there, going to out of the town to getting know about local ingredients and you will cook with the senior chef. Chef Jook." My manager give me a short briefing about the show that I will recordings today.

I nodded my head, reading the script and all. "You know I can't cook ?" I asked my manager suddenly and he laughed at me.

"That's why I think this show is perfect for you. Maybe you could learn to use a knife."

" I could use any knife to chop you off." I said with a innocent smile.

"Are you sure that you have bad bone on your body, Mila?" He asked me and I can't help but rolling my eyes at him.

"Hello guys, nice to see you all." I said to the staff that already busy with the preparation for the show.

"Mila, I think you should wait for another ten minutes.." the crew came to me and I nodded my head.

"Don't worry, I'll be in my van though. You can continue what you are doing." I said to him

"I do really happy to have you here..before you start shooting your drama too." I told him it's not a huge problem and walk back to my van.

"Did I see what I see ?", someone said loudly behind me. I turn my body and I found Aslan with one of the member. I don't know that he is a regular member on this progran too.

"I don't know you are on this program too." I said to him while they walk towards me.

"Hello, I'm Mila, it's so nice to meet you, Sebastian. You are my favorite actually." I said to Sebastian, one of the successful comedian and his cooking are really good.

"Leander told me so much about you." I said again

"Ah..really? We kind of having a love hate relationship actually but I hope he told you a good things only. I'm your fans too though." He said to me.

"Thank you..I hope you enjoy it." I said.

"Well, why don't we have some coffee ?" Aslan said to me.

Sebastian then look at him, "I need to make some phone call actually. I'll skip the coffee." He said and patting Aslan on his shoulder.

He wave at me while going back to his van. Aslan now standing in front of me awkwardly, "Why you look so awkward?" I asked him.

He seems surprised with my question and he clear his throat, "Uhm..I don't know where we stood after that night."

"We are friend of course." I told him casually.

Aslan looked at me, "Ah, it's good to be your friend though.." he said sarcastically to me.

I tolled my eyes, " I have a very good reputation. You could get some benefit from it." I told him and walk towards my van with Aslan walking beside me.

"Can you cook?" He asked me

I look at him, "Of course not." I told him and he laugh at me

"Do you remember when you tried to cooked fried chicken by yourself but ended with you screamed like a maniac."

"I don't know what you're talking about." I said.

My manager seems shocks when he saw me and Aslan walk together. "Hi, Aslan..do you want coffee ?"

"It will be nice, Paul. Thank you." Aslan said casually

When my manager closed the van's, it just two of us. Aslan take his phone and give me his earbuds. I looked at him. "I always want you to listen to one of my song. You said you don't have anytime to listen to my song. You only listen to Emmett and David's song." He said to me.

I put the earbuds," This one os a song that we released three months ago. We wrote it for our fans actually but it's not a sad type..." he said to me.

The music is so easy listening, I think this gonna be my favorite music. "I love the music.." I said to him while looking over my instagram pages.

"What's the title though?" I asked him

"Melody. Do you like it ?" He asked me and I nodded my head with a big smile.

"Thank you. For keeping your promise." I said to him. He clear his throat and look away. "I've got a couple songs more...this one is my solo songs."

We spent our time before the shoot starts by listening to his songs and I ended up with looking out for his songs and saving in on my music platform.

"Guys, come on..the shoot about to start." My manager call us in.

Aslan walk to his team, while I make sure my make up and all. I don't wear much make up but I always make sure my appreance are all perfect.

"Hello, Sir Jook..I really honored to be able to work with you." I greet Chef Jook once we see each other.

He is an old man, look like my dad. I can't help but feeling the warmth once he smile at me. "Mila..I always hopping you would join us and it's come true!" He said to me.

We talk alot about cooking. I told him about my poor cooking skill but he really determined to help me to cook. When everyone ready, the shoot start where they do their opening segments while I stood near them, waiting gor my cue.

"I'm so excited today because we have someone that we could say our nation's sweetheart.." Chef Jook said while the other seems agree with him.

When they call me to join with them, I walked towards them and give them a greetings politely. "Mila is here!" Sebastian said freely. I can't help but getting shy because of that. "Mila, I want to ask you about this, what do you want to cook actually?" Chef Jook asked me.

"I love grilled mackerel with some radish and hot rice actually. But I rarely cook, so I usually eat it at the restaurant.." I told him.

"It's a simple menu though.." Chef Jook

"But it could be the hardest for her.." Aslan said and make everyone laugh.

"Hey! How could you say that to her ? You don't knoe about her cooking skill." Sebastian said. Aslan then looking at me, " Actually we are a childhood friend back then. We played together.." Aslan said.

I can't believe he said that. "Is it true ?" Chef Jook ask me.

I nodded my head, "Yeah, we are neighbors actually. We play together alot together with Aslan's older sister too."

"So it's kind of old friends reunion.."

I nodded my head, " Yeah, maybe." I said to them. Gladly, Chef Jook really cook a grilled mackerel for me and the others. I learned about alot of things too, thinking if I should start to learn more about cooking. Chef Jook really helping me to make chopping a vegetable as a easy task and fun.

When we are on a break, Aslan once again come towards me when I talk with my team with anything that I need for tonight.

"Let's take some photos for our behind the scenes." He said to me and pulling me to come with him.

We took some photos before we start another shooting for tonight. I think tonight will be an interesting event though.
