Kai and Amaris have no idea what kind of storm has started to brew behind their backs. Only time will tell what will happen. Blissfully unaware of the upcoming tragedy Amaris happily attended her class.
Kai was in a good mood. Amaris with her own initiative came to him and it looked like his previous fault was forgiven too. Humming a tune underneath his breath he too attended the class. Kai's presence in class shocked the students and teachers alike. They just prayed that he would not make trouble for them.
When teachers were praying for a trouble-free session Kai was thinking of what he should do next. If he wanted to make Amaris his girlfriend then he needed to do something.
When nothing came to his mind he took out his phone and opened Google search. There he typed how to make a girl into your girlfriend. He chose the first search that boasted to get a girlfriend in easy twenty steps. As he started to read it, he felt what kind of absolute bullshit was written there.
Teasing, touching, let her keep guessing, etc. He wants her to be his girlfriend, not a hang-out buddy.
The only thing he liked out of that idiotic read was taking her on a date to Zoo. He knows that she likes cats so maybe Zoo would be a nice place to go to other than that it was unadulterated crap!
Kai made up his mind, first, he needs to find out about her more and then to take her on a date. As to how he would get to know about her likes and dislikes. He looked at the girl sitting beside his Amaris and smiled.
He just has the perfect person to ask to.
Suzzie felt a chill run down her spine making her feel extremely uncomfortable. She felt as if someone was watching her, paranoid she looked around but found nothing. It was sure as hell weird. Her attention was drawn to the class when Amaris nudged her and glared at her for fooling around.
Poor Suzzie did not know that she has just become the target of the bad boy.
Lunch was almost over and Suzzie was hurriedly making a way out of the library. Her essay was due and she has to borrow a book. Because it took longer to find the one she was looking for she was late for lunch. Thankfully, she still has few minutes left, if nothing else then at least she could grab an apple to soothe her hunger.
She was brisk walking and came to a stop when she heard someone calling her name. Turning around to look at the person she was surprised to see that it was Kai.
What does he want from her?
Suzzie was irritated as she has not eaten anything. The only thing she cannot overlook is hunger. She has zero levels of tolerance for anyone who kept her away from food.
Hence her initial fear of a certain bad boy did not show up at all. There was no caution when she raised her brow at the incoming person and asked him in an annoying voice.
'What?'
Kai had to admit the people around Amaris were equally interesting as her. They really have no fear of him. Or is it that he has gone soft since he met her? He remembered last night's fight in the ring. He had smashed his opponent's jaw with one uppercut and then beat the shit out of him just because he finds his smile irritating.
Kai concluded that the problem does not lie with him. It was with this girl.
'Helloo... are ya gonna say something or not. I am famished and quickly need to eat something. So hurry up!' Suzzie snapped.
'I want to know about Amaris, her likes and dislikes, her favorite hanging spots, and everything that I should know.' Kai declared.
'Why, ya like her?'
'Yes.'
Suzzie did not expect this. She was shocked, to say the least. The surprise quickly faded away from her face when another thought entered her mind.
'Ya playing with me? She sneered.
'Have you seen me going after a girl?' Kai shot back.
'That does not mean that ya like her.'
'Well, I am serious about her. I can swear it on my baby.' Kai quickly took out the keys to his bike to prove his loyalty. Everybody knows how much he loves his ride. One time someone accidentally scratched his baby, the poor guy did not come to school for a whole week.
'Meet me after school is over. Right now, I am too hungry to talk to.'
Kai watched with amusement as Suzzie stomped away. Looks like Drake will have his hands full with her, His eye lit with mischief when he realized he got another ammo that he can use against Drake.
Drake who was happily eating his sandwich in the cafeteria had no idea that he will once again scheme into submission.
Another day passed by Amaris sighed when she realized that the competition was around the corner. Today was dress-rehearsal and everything went smoothly. They were ready. She was feeling a whirlwind of emotions from anxiety to excitement to anticipation and whatnot.
She looked at the girls sprawled on their beds in the room. Dinner was over an hour ago and they just came here after helping out with the dishes and other stuff. Everyone was drained but Amaris can clearly sense that this was more than just physical exhaustion.
What they needed right now was a distraction and a good one at that. Amaris thought hard and long and decide to sacrifice herself.
'My first kiss was stolen away.' Amaris declared loudly.
'You had not had your first kiss yet!'
'Say that again?'
'Who needs a beating?'
Different voices with different questions sounded in the room. Amaris was satisfied with their reaction and was relieved to see the glint in their eyes.
Nothing can liven up the atmosphere better than a juicy piece of gossip especially when it comes to girls.
Amaris was in no rush she has ample time before school started. She was strolling and looking at the wildflowers that grew around the sidewalk. She does not know their names but she has a lot of admiration for them.
No matter what the circumstances, the harsh weather they face, despite the opposing forces they are there, standing straight with sheer will making passerby like her look at them for a while, stealing smiles, brightening their day.
Amaris did not enter the hallways right away when she reached school. She had some time at her hands hence she made a detour and circled to the back. Trailing on the cobbled pathway she reached the place where she wanted to visit, the old basketball court.
It was empty as she preferred. Making way to the bench that nestled in the corner, Amaris sat down, put the bag near her, and took out her phone and earphones. Plugging them in, scrolling through the library she picked up the track and hit play.
Kai looked at the girl who was immersed in music. He has been watching her for the past few minutes and she has yet to notice him. How can she be so reckless? She must pay attention to her surroundings. Can't she feel that someone was around her, staring at her?
He thought girls that intuition or something like that which makes them more aware but this surely was not the case with this girl.
He made his way to her, stopped when he noticed the pretty white and pink flowers that lined the wired fence. On a whim he plucked them, thinking for a while, he weaved them into a pretty wreath. It looked beautiful with a mixture of pink, white and green.
When Kai was standing only a few steps away he called out her name so as not to startle her. When once did not work he tried out a few more times and was successful at his fifth attempt.
Amaris did not expect to see him when she opened her eyes.
