Amaris's initial annoyance quickly turned into pleasantness.
'Hey.' She smiled and removed the earbuds.
'Hi.' Kai sat down next to her and then showed her the flower wreath.
'For you.' He placed it on her head. 'Good luck with your performance.'
Amaris was taken aback by his abrupt approach. She did not get a chance to back away and the next thing she knows the pretty flowers were placed on her head.
She took a moment to digest his actions and then words. This was the first time that she got flowers from a guy and in such a unique way. She felt something stir in her heart but she ignored it. She needs to address something and will ponder about it later on.
'How did you know about my performance?' she inquired.
'I have my ways. The flowers suit you.'
Kai watched in delight as his favorite red crept up her cheeks.
Amaris was annoyed that he did not answer her question but then she saw his dazzling smile and decided to forget about it.
Only one person can tell him and she will definitely grill her later on.
'Thank you.'
'Are you nervous?'
'Little bit.'
'And what about your stomach cramps? Feeling better, they won't pose a problem to your dance?'
Amaris was surprised that he would ask her about periods. She thought when girls dare not say about this topic out loud, how can he ask her about it so unabashedly?
But then she noticed his ear tips, they were turning a bit red.
So he was embarrassed but he asked anyway.
She was touched by his concern. She has to give the guy A for that.
'I will be fine, only the first two days are worst, rest is manageable. This competition is important to me and I won't let anything hinder it.' She assured.
'Why so? The competition is important than your body?'
'Yes. You see, in the orphanage I live...'
Time went by when they were immersed in their long talk. Soon it was time for their classes to start.
Amaris was reminded about the class when her phone's alarm went off.
'It's time to go.' She said and then picked up her bag. Looking at Kai's relaxed body posture she deduced that he had no intention to move.
'Won't you come to class?'
'Later.'
'Okay.' As Amaris turned to walk, she heard him call her name.
'What?'
'Won't you invite me to watch your performance?'
'I thought you were coming already.' Amaris smiled at his stunned expression and trotted away.
This girl!
Kai felt like his heart would explode with all the happiness that kept coming in. This surely meant that she is also interested in him.
Before school ended Amaris has already asked for a leave of absence for tomorrow. Now she just wanted to quickly reach home and meet with the team. She knew that they will be a nervous wreck and needs to calm them down.
As soon as she reached the school gate she noticed him.
There he was looking all too suave leaning against his bike. When their eyes met Amaris can swear her heart missed a beat.
Damn, he really was handsome.
Amaris approached him as her mind thoughts of numerous questions as to why he was standing there and looking at her like that.
But one question kept popping in her mind with the hope that he might be standing here for her?
With that thought, her heart thumped a bit louder and she could feel the heat that burned her cheeks.
What was happening with her? Did she catch some kind of bug?
When she reached him without any preamble she blurted out what was on her mind.
'Were you waiting for me?' She shut her mouth when she realized that she actually had asked him. More heat rushed up to her cheeks and she wanted to hide away.
What happened to modesty?
'Hmm, I like it when you get straight to the point. It's a trait I admire the most when it comes to looking for my girlfriend.' Kai did not beat around the bush with his words.
'And...' he came closer and leaned into her left ear.
'I was indeed waiting for you.' Taking advantage of his position, he inhaled deeply, taking in the scent that was uniquely hers.
Damm, who needs alcohol when he could get drunk on this, her scent alone.
He backed away and admired his favorite sight with delight, her blushing face.
He took the extra helmet and then placed it on her head gently.
'Hop on; I will drop you off at your home.'
Amaris did not resist. She gets a free ride with a handsome guy. Oh, the joy!
Ashley seethed as they drove off.
'Fucking hell!' she cursed.
She was late! She did not get a look at that girl's face.
The impulse to drag away that bitch was so strong that she could barely hold herself back.
But she had to. This was neither the time nor place. Moreover, she does not know how that slut looks like! But she will find her and then ruin her.
IT'S A PROMISE.
Amaris sauntered to her room, skipping occasionally. She was whistling a tune when she entered the room.
'Ahem, someone looks happy. What's the occasion?' Raine asked.
Amaris stopped in her tracks when her gaze landed on her roommates.
She could tell that they were definitely up to something. They were not nervous at all.
What happened did she miss something?
'Nothing.' She said nonchalantly and made her way to her cupboard.
'Ohh, I thought that it was about someone getting a ride by a handsome hunk.' Sara chirped.
Realization dawned on Amaris. They might have seen her getting his bike.
Her eyes widened when Sara and misty enacting the scene of riding a bike and getting too handsy with each other.
These girls, why was she worried for them in the first place! They are not anxious or anything at all! Even the normally silent Misty has joined their gang to tease her.
'What are you guys doing? Oh no, no, no, no. Here i come.' Having said that she tacked the duo who were busy mimicking makeout session.
Soon laughter-filled out the room making the day pass by in a breeze.
The next day, the gang was all set for their performance. Right now they were at the studio and standing in a line in front of Wendy.
'You have done everything that you could do. Now relax and let the cards fall wherever they may. Keep only one thing in your mind why are you doing it? And the rest will be taken care of. BREAK A LEG!'
'Yes, mam!' Their voice rang making Wendy smile at them proudly. Yes, they were ready.
Seconds later, they left together with Wendy to their destination.
