Shenelle POV

Weve been walking through this bushy path for God knows how long!
I wouldn't lie, this is really scary. There are all these creepy insects hoovering over me, I just can't stand them. Eeeww

The village of Kumbungu from what I've seen was so much unlike home. I can't believe this is supposed to be my routes, how ironic.
The houses here are mudhouses, they are far apart from each other, one has to walk a distance before reaching another home. Most of the houses are engulfed in the vegetation as each house has a farm by it.

The girl notices I am keenly Observing things around and she smiles at my naivity.

I steal a glance back at her and she turns shyly and focuses on the road ahead of us. She leads the way as I walk behind her.

I find it so wierd that we haven't said anything to each other yet. And I contemplate whether to start a conversation, even if I did will she understand me and will I understand her?

"Don't be scared, you are in good hands," the girl says

What!? Am I now hearing things wrongly or What exactly is happening. So she speaks English after all, this was so shocking and my mouth drops.

"Huh, you speak English?", I ask in out most shock.

She nods.

Things are kinda getting wierd, how did she know I was scared? Was it that obvious?
I go into a mental conflict with myself.

She goes back into her quiet shell and I'm so not letting this opportunity pass me by. Finally someone who understands my language.

"Errm...please what is your name", I slowly enquired, Since she knew my name and held it in her arms there's no need to introduce myself.

"Tungteeya", she simply answered

"Tung what?", I mumble out as I genuinely couldn't pronounce the name. It was something I'd never heard of. It was just weird.

" |Tun-tei-ya| ", She takes her time to break it down for me and I appreciate. My heart is slowly warming out to her.

"Well Tungteeya what a lovely name!, Can I call you teeya..you know I'm new to all this kinda names and......
Before I could finish she interjected,
"Teeya is a nice name, I'd like that. If it makes you remember faster then why not!".

"Cool, Teeya it is then! Teeya this woman we are going to...You say she is my Grandmother...who is She, tell me more about her", Now breaking freely from my shell I mustered couraged and asked."

"And we are here", She says ignoring what I had earlier asked.

Now my heart is beating faster than ever. In a matter of seconds I'll be meeting my grandmother. I have a lot of questions to be answered, It was as usual a cocktail of emotions as I didn't know what to expect.

We walk into a thatched indigenous mudhouse
It was so much different from what I knew. The mudhouse had about five or more huts arranged in a circle, it had a forecourt within.
Millet, Maize and some other foodstuffs which I could not identify were dried outside awaiting the raging sun.

Whew! I'm in now and I'm sweating beneath this jacket. I remove it and tie it on my waist.
Finally Teeya leads me to the forecourt of the house and that was when my eyes got the shock of it's teary life.

An exact replica of my mom, sat majestically on a mat chewing what I later recognized as cola nuts. She was like my mom's twin sister but with a much elderly and wrinkled look.
"This is too good to be true, Wow!", I exclaim
