Call me a spoilt brat? That's what they all say.
Don't worry I'm used to it now. I have felt till I feel no more. You can hurl all the hurting words but just remember one thing, Don't be too quick to judge....
You have no idea how it feels or how col...
We got there and the program had already begun. We were graciously ushered into our seats. The place was so goamourous, dotted with youths only, who by far were dripping in their attires. It was a black gown, black tux event. So the place had this dinner touch.
After some live band music it was time for the awards. Many names were called and I could tell the Youth's were doing so much in their respective communities. It was so amazing.
"Now ladies and gentlemen, moving on to the northern belt, let's welcome H.E ING. Dr. Winimass Nkaw Melissa Oluwasegun Ajare, CEO of MELtech Engineering world wide, a mother, a mentor, fist lady of Nigeria and above all a northern blooded woman, wife of H.E Oluwasegun Ajare President of the Republic of Nigeria, to award the awardees."
Soon short videos of the changes made by the nominee gos in the north were projected and the crowd watched in awe of the good workdone.
It was there, I had a shocker.
"Timtooni Andani Deeshini, CEO the TAD Engineering Services, please came up here on your well deserved win".
The crowd went bezerke! Cheers upon cheers.
"Apparently his video was the most touching as he created a free and accessible water pump to convey potable drinking water to all households in Kumbungu, Also, he built an ultra modern School complex with state of the art facilities operating fully under the GES and British Curriculum respectively. The School, Deeshini Andani Memorial, was named after his father and had scholarship schemes for almost all the students. Just when I thought that was all, he that's Timtooni gave the Kumbungu Chief's palace a face lift and it was by far the most nicest palace to have been created he and saw to it that every Chief and elder received an education be it formal or informal. Timtooni who was a farmer himself didn't leave that sector bare, he ensured every farmer through cooperation with Teefood Ltd, had produce transported to the southern bench of the country and even beyond to the over sees. Produce yielded so much money for the farmers solely, let's give it up for the main man himself, Timtooni Deeshini Andani"
Soon he climbed up and what I was blew my mind. As the bright lights focused on him, I could see he'd become more mascular and presentable. His black tux complemented his thick dark hair and beard. He still bore familiar features, but looked really handsome and taller
As humble as he was he lifted his award up and gave a courtesy, leaving the stage.
"Sir, not yet, all this? I mean what was you're motivation? This is remarkable", The presenter asked in awe.
He gave a smile, lifted the award and gave a slight bend as the mic was a little to short for his powerful height.
Silence enveloped the place. As many were it hing to hear
"God and a girl", he simply said
Teeya and I stole glances at each other did we just hear "a girl".
Slowly the night progressed. And my name was called for an award too.
"Dr. Tiyumba Walker, CEO of Tiyumba's inspires foundation and winner of the seed award"
My video was played and the number of lives I'd touched through therapy and psychology was captured. Many had good testimonials, mostly the children I'd given emotional emancipation and the chance to life.
There was this speech from the video of a girl i'd helped that touched me...
"I was raped at twelve, it so broke me that I was just a suicide note away. Dr. Tiyumba helped me through it all, from medical bills to therapy and now I am free. I'm eighteen, entering med school, and I'm glad I didn't commit suicide."
I for once became teary, as I didn't think I'd accomplished this much. I wiped off my naughty tears as I walked to the stage for my award with the crowd Cheering me on.
Timtooni POV
Tiyumba Walker?", Whose that? I asked my self within eagerly waiting to see who that exceptional person.
There she stood.
Beautiful as always.
Shenelle? I grabbed my glasses for a cursory look.
I was so dumbfounded by her physique as she's become much endowed and rounded. She look much feminine and matured now.
I didn't even hear the speech she gave, as I was so caught up with her looks and the fact that I'd been a fool. I watched as she graciously left the stage.
A sense of pride filled from within. I'm so proud of you Shenelle.
I made a mental note to speak to her after the program. Perhaps we could iron out stuff?
I just didn't know how the night would play, or how she'd react. All I wanted to do was to see her.
