CHAPTER FOUR
Kida couldn't pull herself together, nor could she shake off the feeling of being closely watched. She had been in the quaint green car with Bucky for the last two hours. Barely any words spoken between the two - both strictly indulged in their own thoughts. Kida had thought about the antichrist for the last half hour, a repetitive nagging in the back of her neck that influenced her to physically scratch herself in a fruitless attempt to banish the thought. Bucky, on the other hand, seemed almost vacant - muttering to himself and strictly staring outside the car's window. How are they going to find the antichrist? Bucky thought. They can't possibly look for the antichrist.
"We need to discuss a plan." Kida finally spoke, over the soft humming of 'you belong to me' by Jo Stafford - a song from an old CD her father brought her when she was younger. "Better discuss one on the way to the inn, before we do anything tomorrow. Don't you think?"
She turned a right and quickly snapped her gaze to Bucky. "I mean, the antichrist isn't gonna find himself." Bucky continued to stare outside the car window, seemingly invested by the passing trees.
"Already?" He finally said, a bit of a whine in his tone.
Kida grinned, almost apologetic. "Yeah."
Bucky sighed, finally turning his head and looking at the road ahead. He can feel Kida's brown eyes shooting bullets to the side of his head. "What, er, if we don't..."
Kida snorted, she didn't expect to see Bucky this resistant. Especially, for hunting down the antichrist. "We're gonna have to."
"Why us?" He said a little more desperately. "Actually, what about I go get my friend - I told you about Sam didn't I? I'll get him and he can go and find the antichrist?"
Kida's mouth twitched at his whinging. "I already felt my liver drop to my arsehole when you told me about the antichrist missing for the last twenty years, i'm not having you drag in one of your friends-"
"Did I say friend? I meant raging asshole."
She shook her head, but continued from where she was cut off. "Yes, friend. I'm not having you drag them into this mess. Plus, I clocked you went invisible half way through lunch, you prick." She sneered playfully. " And I'm not about to have two arsehole angels make me look crazy in public too."
It was Bucky's turn to grin. It was large, allowing his eyes to crinkle as his head dipped at the memory. "You have to admit, it was a little funny. You obviously didn't mind-" His gaze shifted to her, playfulness splashed in his serpent eyes. "Or were you too engrossed in that burger?"
Shaking her head, she huffed a laugh. "The whole meal was about a fiver, obviously i'm gonna enjoy it."
He nodded, agreeing for her sake. "So, the plan?"
Kida proceeded to slow down at a red light. "There would be three stages. Find the antichrist, make them trust us, and take them to hell? Have a little bonding time with their father. Satan's their dad right?""I don't want that image in my head." Bucky muttered, referring to what Satan had to do in order to have a child.
Kida ignored him, "You said the last time the Antichrist had located, was the night they had been brought down to Earth. Do you know where the location had been?"
The light had signaled green.
"Clovelly, Devon." He sighed.
Kida's brow twitched, in deep thought for a moment. "I know where that is, luckily."
Bucky nodded mournfully, he really didn't want to come in contact with the blasted thing. He had forgotten about it. But, the irritating mortal next to him wanted to play hero. He still very much wanted to eat her.
She made a swift turn and made her way back on a route she was familiar with. "Er, okay." She muttered, eyeing the signs. "Devon's only an hour and a bit away from here. We'll be there by, like, six."
Bucky only nodded. "The things possibly dead by now." He brung up. His gaze outside again, trying to seem casual.
"It wouldn't hurt to check. Plus, when I was in the toilet I told my mum I would be spending a few nights with my friend, so we won't be home for a couple days." She grinned cheekily.
Bucky's eyes twitched. "You already had this thought out?" He asked, followed with. "Your parents have an awful amount of trust in you."
"Yeah." she replied. "I never really did anything that made them not trust me."
He only just nodded.
