CHAPTER TWENTY-TWO
Kida shuffled around the flower patch, situated at the far back of Faiza's garden, with a watering can in her hand. Long, brown hair swept away in a messy ponytail, with wisps of hair tickling her cheeks. She was wearing Faiza's clothes, a long sleeved grey shirt with similar grey joggers. She knew the demon duo, with the occasion of a concerned Faiza, stared at her through the window in the kitchen facing the backyard - the pair talking in hushed whispers, their serpent gazes flashing between Bucky and the woman. She had an aura around her, the heat from inside her bluntly palpitating on the top of her skin, creating a mystic sheen to her usually tan skin. She only held onto the watering can harsher, her gaze transfixed by the lilies suffering under the water's pressure.

She quickly flicks her gaze toward the window, Sam and Faiza quickly snap their gaze away from the woman - taking quick sips of their tea. Natasha wasn't present. Confusion quickly swirled in her chest. It was odd seeing two figures, instead of three. "It's been two weeks." Kida flinched at the usual quiet surroundings, her neck twisting toward Natasha, who stood behind her with her arms crossed over her chest. Natasha had previously debated whether or not to speak with Bucky or Kida first, She had decided that she'll talk to Kida, as Sam would always find a way to break Bucky away from his isolation.

"We can make it longer." The tan woman shrugs in return. She had wanted to talk with Bucky, in fact she had tried - he was just being adamant on ignoring her, shutting her out.

Natasha sighs, gaining a raised brow from the woman. "There's going to be a point where you talk to him, Kida." This gained Kida's attention. "You're both miserable, and, frankly, I'm tired of switching between the both of you whining."

Kida huffs, laying the watering can down. "I'm not whining. Bucky... he's ignoring me."

Natasha raised a red brow. So are you. She thought bitterly.

"And besides," She continues, pulling her sleeves over her fingers. The purple of her ring made Natasha squint. "I've tried talking to him. Fucking hell, I sleep on the same bed as him. He's the one being pissy about it." She paused, then muttered. "The wanker."

"Regardless, you both need to make amends before we leave." Amusement clear in the demon's features. "We'll be leaving soon."

Kida blessed under her breath, and followed the other woman inside. The heat palpitating Kida's skin only palitated more vigorously, running in circles around her chest.

"What's the next step?" Asked Kida, feverishly ignoring the heat running more joyfully as they made their way toward the living room. For the last week, the heat had become a constant beat, running along her body and uncomfortably laying around her body.

"We need to stay as far from Wick as possible." Natasha replied, going first into the living room. Kida nodded at this information, nodding her head at the words. She could do that. Yeah, she can definitely stay the hell away from that man. "He's batshit crazy. But, knowing him enough, he probably called someone else to do his dirty work."

"Cool, we'll just have to be extra paranoid." She deadpans, making her way over to a couch and slipping on. She wished this was a month prior where she didn't know the three demons in the room, where she had just been in a state of ignorance of 'guardian angel' and angels - who were actually demons, a horrible surprise blurted to her by Sam one night - with serpent eyes.

"We won't be paranoid." Sam pipes up, shifting in a long seat. "What we know about that little asshole, is that he has a small group of friends - and people who would actually do his bidding." The demons: Sam and Natasha, shared a knowing look.

Kida sighed and ran her hands down her face. She truly wished to be ignorant at this point. She felt it slowly rushing to her, just like that night in the inn where she felt overwhelmed with not asking how Bucky felt, the thought of being on the run had slowly etched its why onto her skin. She still hadn't taken the time to fully mourn fro Clint Barton, flashes of the man's gouged eyes would eat away at her brain, brandishing her with nightmares and paranoia - if she focused hard enough, she could feel the man's masculine hand curling viciously around her shoulders, his hot breath hissing in her ears.

"When should we leave then?" She asked, toying with her fingers.

"Tomorrow afternoon."

For a fraction of a moment, they all fell silent. Kida felt a sense of calm drift through her, making the heat also lay comfortably on her shoulders. She wondered how long she'll be able to outrun the man.

————111————

Essex was barely two hours away from London. Kida watched stoically as the quartet made their way around the pavement, muttering 'excuse me' with each slow figure. The streets were alive, people of all ages walking and out of shops - the rustling of shopping bags was heard beneath the chatter of loud talking. Kida followed closely behind Natasha, watching the back of demons head with an intensity, only fielded with her fear of being lost in the large group of people.

The woman, in the threshold of adulthood, spun her head in all directions. She marvelled over all the shops, regardless of being in the city a multitude of times - it always came to a surprise to her. She was easily fascinated. As they finally stopped outside a hotel with a multitude of small, square windows. Her breath hitched. She's never been inside a hotel in London, she'd always been to b'n'bs and even then, it wasn't as fancy.

The quartet stepped through the revolving door, three out of four seen sported with tinted glasses - causing odd looks thrown in their direction. The smell of dettol and other cleaning products filled the woman's nose, as well as the faint scent of smoke lingering gingerly. "Ah. you must be Natalie, am I correct? You'd said there would be an addition of three more people." A voice snapped Kida from her gazing, her eyes latching onto a balding man, with skinny arms.

Natasha smiled. "Yes, we'd like our keys. Please."

Kida's cheeks flushed once she had seen the group's suite - large and expensive looking, the interior reminded her of an expensive apartment she had seen on a catalogue before. She was unsure of how Natasha had been able to afford the spacious area. The demon had never mentioned a job.

"Two rooms?" Sam analyzed her with a smirk, her voice cracked at the question. His eyes were burning holes onto her back, his gaze fashing with amusement. He felt the other male demon grunt near him disdainfully, and choked back a laugh. They were both distraught over what they had just discovered.

"Tash and I are already bunking with each other." The male announced proudly, his grin only widening at the glare being sent his way. The joy of pissing people off.

Kida quickly sent a look toward Bucky, ignoring the small blossom of hope withering her chest for an ounce of attention. Unsure, she moved toward one of the rooms, seeing her luggage was already sitting near the doors. "King... size?" She says weakly, her heat rejoicing as her features contoured into disdain.

Sam and Natasha seemed pleased at her words. Bucky, however, seemed to nearly shatter his jaw with how hard he had clenched them. He silently burst with anger at the revelation. He did not want to be near the woman, not anymore.

"It's getting late!" Sam claps his hands once, breaking the intensity in Bucky's eyes. "We should get settled. Tash?" He gestured for the female demon to leave.

Kida's world stopped, her lung fell down to her arsehole. She didn't want to be alone with Bucky, not any longer than she had for the last two weeks. "We should-"

"You already know your side, Langley." He spat, moving past her into the room.

Her other lung fell down to her arsehole, a burst of angry searing in her bloodstream. With a huff, Kida moved toward her luggage and started to unpack. Ignoring the heat who whimpered at the aggression in Bucky's tone. She thought about what she had done. It had been playing on her mind for the last two weeks the demon ignored her, what had she done? She simply wanted to help him and he pushed her away. It was his fault, not hers.
