Normal POV
"So I'll be scheduled to move at the beginning of 2018!" I finally concluded my news, and Hinata was barely keeping the excitement in him. His lips quivered in excitement, and his brown eyes sparkled.
"Super! That's super!" He clung to my shoulders and shook me in a carefree manner. "S-sorry," he realized what he was doing and quickly stopped shaking me. I laughed at his response, and it made me really happy that he was looking forward to it too.
He sent me home on his bike after. The trip back was peaceful, I felt his muscular chest against my back, and I loved the way he smelled like the sand. "I'll be getting pretty busy with volleyball the next few weeks, so I may not be able to have dinner together anymore," he stopped at my apartment and told me.
My heart sunk a little bit, but I had similar news to tell him as well, "I guess it's the same for me. I joined the summer surfing contest, so I'll be training on new moves as well. We'll still see each other around, right?"
"Yes!" He beamed at me and bid me goodnight. He was just about to pedal off again, but he turned back and stole my heart for the hundredth time.
He placed a quick peck on my cheek, and I saw his face flush red yet again. "See you!" With that, he escaped. I staggered my way upstairs, kind of breathless as I reached the final step. I want to... totally be his girlfriend! I screamed in my head and unlocked my door.

Weeks have gone by in a flash, and I'd lost track of how many times Hinata and I have met up for dinner together. It was now the final week of August and tomorrow was the competition of my surfing contest. Weather reports aren't a very accurate thing here, so I hoped that tomorrow would bring me some good waves.
I spent the past month or so working on my new skills every day after school and during the weekend. I may have gotten several shades darker than usual, but so did Hinata.
We joked about it once during our dinner together. He was getting better and better at beach volleyball, often teaming up with players to help each other gain points. To be honest, I don't think I have seen Hinata playing indoor volleyball so far. I knew that he was training with the junior team, but I never got the chance and time to make my way down.
He kept saying how high he could jump and I never doubted him, seeing how he played on the sand. My mind may be all about surfing now, but I knew my heart was clear about falling for him.
I never expected him to be any different with his volleyball as well. There's no way I would expect him to prioritize me over the sport that he loved so much. I know that I wouldn't, so why should he?
His passion for volleyball and his enthusiasm to excel more was one of the things that made me fall for him in the first place. Well, that and many other reasons, like his adorable smile and fluffy hair.
I was resting today at home, catching up on my school work. It's an unwritten rule for me to never have any strenuous training the day before a competition, so I was just making use of my time.
I wished I could spend my afternoon with him, but he was busy working and training. Well, he was coming over for dinner with my family anyways. He said he looked forward to eating with a group of people again, especially one that feels like family.
My mom was clearly happy about the fact that I liked him. "I was so worried that you'd never like anyone! You always reject the boys that chase you!" Her high pitch voice was taunting in my head. I'll give her the benefit of the doubt that she was happy to meet another Japanese.
