Hinata's POV

"You like hanging around Lexy now?" Carlos asked as I sat down on the seats near the bar. I looked over at him and tried to find my words, "it's comforting to have someone who speaks the same language." He came over and offered me a drink. "I see. You feeling homesick?" He flipped a towel over his shoulder.

Homesick...? Oh! "Yes, I think so. And thank you for the drink," I bowed my head to him, and he chuckled at my actions. I guess bowing is not the culture they have here. "No problem, it's on the house," he said before turning back to the bar and attending to customers.

What does on the house mean? I desperately tried to translate in my head, but I just couldn't figure it out. "Hey hey hey," a soothing voice called out, and I was hit with a wave of nostalgia as it was something Bokuto-san used to say all the time.

I looked up to see Lexy dressed in her uniform; guess she came straight from school. Her shirt was not buttoned up all the way like it was this morning, and her tie was missing as well. Her skirt was definitely not ironed, but somehow it suited her personality so well.

"What would you like to eat? Are you a fan of seafood? Maybe you prefer meat?" She sat down and looked at the menu without further distractions. Her small fingers held onto the menu and then passed it to me. "I have that menu memorized like the back of my hand. Here, take a pick," her smile seemed to sparkle. I decided on the chicken while she went for grilled fish.

Was this my first meal with a local besides Pedro? Picture, I gotta take a picture. "You sure act like a tourist here, Hinata," she chuckled as the food came, and I took out my phone to snap a few pictures.

I blushed and said, "I like to keep my friends updated." She cut a slice of fish and placed it on my plate. That was so sweet of her, "they're your teammates in highschool? The fish here is superb. Try some."

I showed her the picture that was on my lock screen, and she squealed in envy. "You guys look so cool in your jerseys! Oh! The blonde guy on the right looks so tall," she held onto my phone. I told her about him, Tsukishima Kei, and she burst out laughing after hearing what type of person he was. "I'll take a picture of you; the lighting looks good. Maybe you could post it on your social media later!" She swiped open my camera and positioned my phone in front of my face.

I think I won the lottery or something. I was having such a nice meal with such a pretty girl, the bar on my left, and the volleyball pitches just a few meters away from me. With her around, I think I might just get through this homesick feeling I have.

I flashed my brightest smile, and she snapped a picture. Her cheeks were slightly pink, and it took her awhile to snap out of her trance and pass me back my phone. Weird...

"H-hey, let's exchange numbers!" She perked up and took out her phone. "Sure!" I can't believe I'm getting such a pretty girl's number. Oh, Kageyama, if you could see me now. We exchanged numbers and social media accounts. I briefly swiped through her page and noticed a lot of pictures of the sea and her surfboard. I guess she was as enthusiastic about surfing as I am with volleyball.

"O-oh, Lexy," I called her attention over the meal. "Yes?" She looked up from her food with her cheeks full, adorable... I snapped myself out of it and continued to ask my question, "Carlos said something about 'on the house', what does that mean?"

She looked over at her friend over the bar and smiled back at me. "It means to treat. He gave you a drink for free," she sipped on her watermelon juice. Oh man, I love having her around.
