Hinata's POV
"Look out!" I pulled Lexy out of the waiter's way for the fifth time this evening. I completely understood that winning the competition was out of the world for her, but she was drinking way too fast. It hasn't even been two hours since the start of the party, and she's already so tipsy.
She smiled at me with her red cheeks, and I settled her down on the barstool where Carlos gave her another cup of... probably something alcoholic. "Sorry, Hinata. Just let her be like this for tonight. It's been a while since we've seen her this happy," Carlos told me and I can't help but give in.
She hugged her trophy in a daze, mumbling to herself, "dad... I'm... kind of awesome, right?" Her words broke my heart, and I wanted to pull her in a hug to comfort her right there and then. I sighed and took a sip of my fruit juice. "Hinata-kun, could I trouble you a bit?" Mrs Vidal came up to me. I took my eyes off of Lexy and focused on her mother.
"I'm sorry you had to see Lexy like this. We rarely ever see her this tipsy before," she bowed slightly. I frantically bowed back, "it's totally alright, Mrs Vidal." She laughed, and Miguel yawned beside her. It was getting quite late, probably almost eleven at night.
"Lexy probably wants to stay longer, but Miguel can't stay up late, so I have to take him back. Could I... request that she stay over at your place?" She asked.
Did I hear that right? Her mother wants to let her daughter stay over at my place? Was my face red? Please don't be red.
She seemed to read my mind, "sorry, it's such a strange request from a mother. But it'll definitely be difficult and extremely out of your way to bring her home. Seeing that you stayed so close by, I was hoping that she could crash on your sofa or something."
"It's alright with me... but is it okay for you, Mrs Vidal?" I choked out. I can't help but think about what could happen if she was in the apartment with me. "Of course, I'll be expecting you to know what you should and should not do!" She sternly told me off.
I gulped and nodded my head frantically. She giggled and patted my shoulder, "you're a good kid, Hinata. I trust you for taking care of my daughter."
"Understood, ma'am!" I bowed, and she laughed before leaving the bar with a sleeping Miguel in her arms. I turned back to the car counter, expecting Lexy to be downing a few shots. But she wasn't there. I looked around and saw her dancing on the dance floor with her school friends who had come to support her. I sighed and returned to the bar seats.
How could I be mad at her for looking so happy? She had changed out of her swimwear and into some comfortable T-shirt and shorts. Her hair was kind of wild from being in the seawater the whole day, and her cheeks were flushed red.
She was shining on the dance floor like a literal ball of light. I couldn't tear my eyes away from her.
"She's definitely wasted," Carlos leaned on the bar counter. "Why would you say that?" I asked. He chuckled and admitted, "that's the tenth cocktail with a shot of tequila she's downing right now. No matter how young she started drinking, she's going to feel a massive hangover tomorrow."
Oh my god. Does that mean... I'm taking care of a drunk person later? Is something going to happen? Would she do anything? Do I need to do anything? Do I want to do something?
Holy crap. Cut it out, Shoyo! Be a little bit more mature, won't you? I battled my own thoughts. But look at her! Argh, so perfect and beautiful! How am I supposed to be calm? I slapped my face with my hands as I felt myself burn up.

"Hi-Na-Taaaaaaa," Lexy whined as I gave her a piggyback to my place. It was around two in the morning, and honestly, I'd never been so tired since my last volleyball competition in high school.
"Yes?" I responded to her drunken slurs. She kicked her feet in my arms, and I almost dropped her. I lifted her and continued walking on. She wasn't heavy, but she was pressed up against my back, making it difficult to... concentrate.
"I... want to SURF!" She hiccupped, and the smell of alcohol lingered with every word. She snuggled her head in my shoulders and her grip around my neck tightened.
"Mmm, I like..." she mumbled again. Should I even respond to her at this point? She probably wouldn't remember, right?
We finally reached our apartment, and I sat her down on the sofa. She collapsed almost immediately as I got my room door open. "Here, sleep on my bed tonight. I'll sleep on the sofa," I tugged gently at her and tried to get her on her feet.
She groaned and was reluctant to move. Alas, I swooped her into my arms and carried her onto my bed. She flipped around and hugged my bolster.
I ran my hand through my hair, desperately trying to keep myself calm. Lexy was on MY bed! Literal goddess, she looks so good! I turned around and slapped myself hard on the face. Keep it together, Hinata Shoyo. You promised Mrs Vidal to keep your hands to yourself. She trusts you! I slapped myself to snap out of it again.
I got out of the room to get her some water. When I returned, I got the shock of my life. "W-what are y-you doing?" I gasped and almost dropped the cup of water.
She already took off her top and ready to take off her shorts. "Mm? It's hot, and it reeks of alcohol," she said vaguely. I quickly set the drink down on my table and flung myself to my cupboard, pulling out my T-shirt.
"P-p-put this on!" I squeezed my eyes shut and shoved my shirt towards her. I felt her take the shirt and heard her slip it on. When I opened my eyes, she was snuggled against my bolster yet again.
This is crazy; my heart's going insane. I might get a heart attack... I pressed against the left side of my chest and forced myself to calm down. Ah, forget it, I'll try to sleep on the sofa.
I pulled my blanket over her and tucked her in. She shifted a bit, and I saw tears on her eyelashes again. Today was a happy day for her, right? Please stop crying... I stroked the top of her head gently, trying to comfort her. Her sleeping face looks so peaceful; just what was going on in that head of yours right now?

I smiled to myself and stood up. I turned around, but she held my hand, surprising me. "Hinata," her voice was suddenly clear. I looked at her, and she was staring straight at me with her ocean blue eyes.
"Stay with me. Don't go," her voice came out as a whisper. She tugged at my hand, making me backtrack and dropping to my bed.
The whole room seemed to be silent now, and all that I could hear was the brutal beating of my own heart. My chest hurt from it beating so vigorously. "That's not a good idea..." my voice came out shaky, and I tried to sit up again. "No, I want you," she was being stubborn and never let go of my arm. I'm sorry, Mrs Vidal. I promise not to do anything more than this.
I laid down beside her, and she scooted over to make space. She smiled at me and closed her eyes, "I'm happy." It was the last thing she said before really knocking out for the night.
That's so unfair, Lexy. You have no idea how hard this is for me right now. I hooked a piece of her stray hair behind her ear and watched as her breathing became stable.
I noticed how she looked with my shirt on. Was I seriously that much bigger than her? It was severely oversized on her! I quickly covered her up with my blanket and turned the other way. My face was burning up right now, and I suppressed a squeal. This was going to be one long night...
